If it is late night, hopefully they will have a few folks on horns and blow out some crazy jazzfunk. This is exciting. I still beleive we will receive a big phatty of an announcement before the schedule.
Very Very Very Very (etc. etc.) happy about this one. Glad we're getting a little more on Friday late night. Nothing against STS9 but I loooove some M&Ms.

He's right and Kim (the manager) said that if anything, Robert wouldn't play a full set with the Family Band, he'd probably guest on a set and Sunday does look a little dry. If the Word played, there would not be a SuperJam on Sunday but I'm more than OK with that. Perhaps we will get a set from the Word and thats the reason Medeski and Martin weren't in the intial lineup announcement so no one would catch on til the end. It would to be Sunday if it happened cause North Mississippi Allstars are playing in IL on 6/15.

Wow. So now we have two confirmed late nights for Friday, but will they conflict or will they be presented in tandem (Medeski and Martin --> STS9). The way Superfly has handled late nights recently makes it hard to believe they would have two jammier acts and nothing indie or hip hop late night Friday.
PS This is a great addition. Every time I try to see MMW there is a conflict, and I have no allegiances to any late night acts right now. From what I hear, this is going to be a tremendous show.

String Cheese is playing Friday, I was just assuming it would be a latenite so they could play as long as they wanted, but I really couldn't see them being put up against MMW or STS9, now I am really confused.
I thought STS9 was playing from 12-4 on Friday night, which leads me to believe that they would not be sharing a tent with anyone. I am happy about this add, but I gotta go with Attornaroo and say there is going to be a hip-hop late night deal. I just cant see DJ Shadow playing during the day at all, so I can see Friday night going like this:
This Tent: DJ Shadow - > El-P -> Hot Chip? That Tent: STS9 The Other Tent: Crazy Medeski, Martin, and whomever jam out
maybe we can get some medeski martin and some scofield
throw wood in there with scofield and it would make me happy as hell. unless string cheese is playing latenight. then ill be sad. im betting dj logic will show up too.

So all of the unannounced bands (per bonnaroo website) so far are Medeski & Martin, Robert Randolph, EOTO, Gift of Gab, Stanton Moore (side band or something), and any others I might be missing. Also they have said more bands to be announced still, so lets keep our hopes up for a few more good bands.

im verry excited about this add. i discovered mmw over a month ago and have completely immersed myself in their music. couldnt have been better timing! sad not to see wood but 2 outta three is good enough for me, especially because of the jammage that will occur.
it also works out bc i really didnt want to go to sts9 and the whole posse i will be with wants to see them badly. i will take my happy ass over to mm&whoever and see ya'll there!
