This is the set list for the Police that has been circulating the web. It is supposedly from someone at the studio where they've been rehearsing (in Vancouver, I think.) From everything I've read the list is not set in stone yet but if they are indeed rehearsing these songs, we have a good chance of hearing them at Roo.
There are few missing that I'd really like to hear (off the top of my head: Canary in a Coalmine, On any Other Day, Man in a Suitcase)
So take this for what it's worth. But what are your thoughts on this "potential" set list.
"When The World Is Running Down" "Message In A Bottle" "Driven To Tears" "Walking On The Moon" "Synchronicity II" "Don't Stand So Close To Me" "Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic" "Walking In Your Footsteps" "Tea In The Sahara" "Deathwish" "Demolition Man" "De Do Do Do, De Da Da Da" "Murder By Numbers" "Spirits In The Material World" "Wrapped Around Your Finger" "Invisible Sun" "The Bed's Too Big Without You" "One World" "Bring On The Night" "King Of Pain" "Shadows In The Rain" "Roxanne" "So Lonely" "Next To You" "Can't Stand Losing You" "Rehumanize Yourself"

Lots of great hit songs, and several good non-hit choices on here, especially: When the World is Running Down Driven To Tears Deathwish The Bed's Too Big Without You One World
but I would gladly trade Rehumanize Yourself for Canary In a Coalmine, Bombs Away, or Voices Inside My Head. Hopefully Voices inside My Head will continue to stay as the middle jam part of Can't Stand Losing You.
"We've all been raised on television to believe that one day we'd all be millionaires, movie gods, and rock stars. But we wont, and we're slowly learning that fact & we're very, very pissed off......."
This is the full list according to the Police's official site (I think they have since taken it down, but it has been on wiki since they first posted it)
-and of course Every Breath You Take will be on the setlist-
When The World Is Running Down, You Make the Best of What's Still Around Message in a Bottle Driven To Tears Walking on the Moon Synchronicity II Don't Stand So Close to Me Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic Walking In Your Footsteps Tea In The Sahara Deathwish Demolition Man De Do Do Do, De Da Da Da Murder By Numbers Spirits in the Material World Wrapped Around Your Finger Invisible Sun The Bed's Too Big Without You One World (Not Three) Bring On The Night King of Pain Shadows In The Rain Roxanne So Lonely Every Breath You Take Next To You Can't Stand Losing You Rehumanize Yourself
Wow! that's a good-sized set list! I'm totally stoked now. I, too, will be missing Canary in a Coalmine. Walking in Your Footsteps was fabulous live WAY back in the day.

I can't imagine they'll be playing the same identical set every show. They probably have a skeleton set, and then mix it up a bit... Canary here, Deathwish there, and so on.
The "potential" set list is supposedly just a llist of the songs they've been practicing. They would therefore be in no particular order.
I added the times of the studio versions and it comes to approx 110 min. (1hr 40min.) which is way too long for a normal show once you add jam time and audience interaction.
In the day, it was not unusual for the Police to vary the set list a bit from show to show and to play various unrecorded versions of songs (acoustic, reggae, rock), so this allows for some variety at normal shows and a looong set at Roo.
Of course this set list came off the net so it could all be b%llsh#t.

I thought I read somewhere that for their tour the live show was going to be just the 3 of them--no horns, no backup singers, no synth players, etc. So I guessed the live setlist would be heavy on a lot of the early punk-type stuff, and not so much the later, synth-y, horn-y (!) type songs.
But... there are so many great cops tunes I can't imagine without horns... Maybe they'll bring out some extra pieces for the Roo? Or collaborate with some horn players, etc., from some of the other bands playing there? <<hope, hope>>
I'm sure they have arrangements of most songs that are adapted to only the 3 of them. That's one thing I liked about them when I saw them in the early 80's. They played a lot of unorthodox versions of songs.

yeah, but it originally came from thier (or Sting's) official site. They have probably added a few tunes and taken a few out of the mix. I wouldn't expect much jamming, except in So Lonely and maybe one other song. 1:40 - 2 hours sounds about right with a couple encores included. People are paying a lot of money for these shows, they know they can;t play an hour and ten minutes and bail.
I easily could see the show being between 2 and 2 and a half hours. I think that they're gonna pull something special out too, like a few guest spots (?)

I'd love to see Ben Harper do a couple songs with them.
