What happens if my tee shot lands on a bird's back and he carries it out of bounds but then is attacked by a larger bird who grabs the ball and drops it in the hole? Is that still a hole in one? 'Cause that's how I'm gonna play it.

Artists just show up to bonnaroo. last year I saw Gillian Welch play with Bright Eyes and she wasn't even slated to perform. In 05 I saw ?uestlove on drums and Pino Pallidino on Bass, neither with any scheduled act at Bonnaroo, both with Herbie Hancock for the best set of the entire festival. In 02 I saw Steve Winwood show up with Panic, no band, unannounced. Played "Glad." Best thing they played that night easy.
They may not be announcing artists, but until the superjam is finished and the last note of the final show is played, don't ever think they aren't hiding some artist around some back corner. They are. You may have to go out and find them, though. But that's Bonnaroo... So many surprises await.
"That's the big thing about education. People can be book smart, but not really intelligent about anything else. A lot of times they just taking in all this information and regurgitate it. It's much more important to process it and personalize it. To apply it to your world, to your life. You have to walk the walk, or you can't really report about it honestly."

So basically since the first artist release there have been no ‘good’ artist additions. By good I don't mean to offend anyone, but I won't be jumping to see any bands from round 2, 3, 4 etc.
Either way when I saw the initial line-up I loved it. Any more artists may very well mean more conflicts.
I guess it's all supply and demand. If tickets were being purchased slowly they'd add more bands to sell more tickets. Since tickets sold like hot cakes they fell no need to add more bands. Hint, next year wail until May to buy your tickets! : )

If you enjoy jazz or blues music, then I'd venture to say that the additions were some of the most phenomenal additions in a while... I mean, Ornette Coleman?? He's one of those people who I never even imagined seeing live cause when would I have the chance?

If he's as good as people say he is, and there's no conflict I just may have to check him out. I'm not really into jazz, but some of the drumming I've heard in live jazz is starting to get me hooked.
If tickets were being purchased slowly they'd add more bands to sell more tickets.
I don't buy into this theory at all. I'm sure that even the awesomest additions in the past were lined up well before announcement, not just brought on board to hurry along ticket sales. What we saw this year was a delayed announcement (to permit the Police to get their announcement out first) which rolled the first 2 or 3 announcements into one.

Answer: Bonnaroo '07 ;D
For real, man. If you aren't into jazz, it's cool. But you have to understand how influential and talented of a musician Ornette Coleman is. Also, the entire "Somethin Else" line up is pretty damn impressive. I really like the acts this year since there were so many great jazz artists added. I see your point otherwise, though. I wasn't very excited to see a band like Fiction Plane get added (No offense Fiction Plane fans). I think the leaked line up wasn't mean to be that large, ya know what I'm saying?

Hey maybe you guys are right, but I think sometimes people are afraid to admit that bands' and festival organizers' number one (or close to) priority is to maximize profit. It sucks and it's not like it use to be, but I think it happens a lot more than we think (not just with the stones, who, U2 and the police).
Maybe Roo this year was different in that the lineup was delayed or since everything was leaked they announced all they had, but I'm pretty sure if they could sell 80k tickets and have say Bjork (like some other festivals) instead of Police it might happen.
But hey I'm pretty excited with this lineup, so I'm not complaining (or trying to agrue if that's how I sound).

Honestly, it kinda sucks that they aren't adding anymore...but on the other hand, it is good because there are gonna be enough conflicts as it is. I guess what I was looking for was that one band that would be so important that it'd be above any conflicts. You know, like another STS9 or Flaming Lips. But, chances are we'd have gotten a lot of "I want to see these guys as bad as every other band" which would just mess up my schedule.
Plus, this is my first Roo, I gotta have some time to check out non-music related fesitivities.
well, you ask me why i'm drunk all the time it levels my head and eases my mind i just walk along and stroll and sing i see better days and i do better things
roo had me before the lineup was even announced, so every round was like another gift to me. and just when i thought it couldnt get any better they added an entire tent of just jazz. i had an orgasm when i saw that.
lonnie smith is a fucki'n beast. medeski sealed the deal for me

Yeah, actually they had me after the first day of my first Roo, last year. As soon as the leaked line-up was confirmed, I was already thinking about all the inevitable conflicts and was sure that when the schedule was released, I wouldn't have to wonder, "Damn, what the hell am I going to do between 6 & 7 pm Friday? There's no band, comedian, or movie playing anywhere I have the slightest interest in seeing, and I Damn sure I won't feel like taking a nap, checking out Shakedown, or just walking around soaking in the Roo at that point in time."

What is at Shakedown? I keep hearing people speak of it like it's an attraction, but as far as I know it's just a street?
ill let someone else take this
It's where the non-corporate vendors set up shops/tents. There's a little of This and a little of That. And some of those Other things. Oh, and some What and Which.
