Alright, according to the rumors that I've been reading, these two bands will probably be playing simultaniously late on Saturday night. I can imagine this would be a major conflict for a lot of people.
If they do play at the same time, I would be 50/50 torn on which band to watch. I enjoy Gov't Mule's music more than The Flaming Lips, but I think the Flaming Lips' stage show would be better. Post who you would prefer to watch if they play at the same time.

No question for me, It's the Lips hands down.
Take solace in knowing that Mule will probably play longer than The Lips. You could probably catch most of the lips set and still be able to see half of Mule's set. I may stop by Mule afterward on my way to Sasha & Diggweed, just to see if they pull any great guests.

I might change my mind, but I'll most likely end up at the Flaming Lips. Mule puts on a great show, but I can't say no to a great psychedelic rock concert in the early hours of the morning. ;D

I'm in the exact same predicament. I want to see the Lips because of all I've heard but I am drawn, on a primitive level, to the sound of Warren Haynes' voice.
Hard decision but I've seen Mule a million times and never seen FLips so Id have to do FLips and hope Mule plays a looooong set. I'm still hoping they don't overlap but I'm seeing STS9 Friday night so that's no better either.

Wow this could not describe me more aly! I love Warren's voice its amazing... but Ive heard such good things about a Flips show and I love me some good 'n crazy visuals (along with good music as well)... man what a toss up!! Im sure I will end up going half and half though!

I really don't want to miss Girl Talk (listening to it now) but from everything I've heard and the Youtube that I've seen, FLips will be the place to be that night. The only thing that would stop me or seriously make me think twice about seeing them would be: Flaming Lips vs. Ween Flaming Lips vs. White Stripes
Since that's not happening, I'll see you there Saturday Night.
they are crazy...but really both have their benefits.....I am seriously in a conflict....should this really arise. I have seen both but only during the day/dusk...never witnessed either latenight. best hard problem ever I must say...
someone would have to tie me up with some really good knots for me to miss the lips' show. every single time i see them it's the best concert of my life! i'm sure some people feel that way about gov't mule. but they just don't do it for me like the lips
