The Flaming Lips, Galactic, and then The Philly Experiement is my clusterfcuk for late night. I hope the philly experiement play far longer than there set time because they will be closing the tent out that night. I hopefully will get to see some of each of them. But you know what, if I miss some of something, oh well I am at Bonnaroo and there would no where else I would want to be at that time.
"That's the big thing about education. People can be book smart, but not really intelligent about anything else. A lot of times they just taking in all this information and regurgitate it. It's much more important to process it and personalize it. To apply it to your world, to your life. You have to walk the walk, or you can't really report about it honestly."
It was great, after driving all day for work, coming home and seeing the schedule. I was definitely speeding on the way home in anticipation of the schedule coming out.
I think that they did a pretty good job. We all know that the 5-8 slots and late night slots are going to half conflicts every year. You just have to suck it up a little bit and miss a band, or do the partial set shuffle.
But the best news was to see that the Lips have a two and a half hour slot allotted to them. The two times that I have seen them, they were messing around with the ball too much and I got abbreviated sets, so to see a 2.5 hour set from the lips is going to be amazing. Saturday is a great great day.
I must agree atl...despite the conflicts you knew would happen (late night and such) eveything seems like it flows VERY well. I can catch soooo many bands during the day and am able to do it at my leisure....this year is goin to be great

I am a roo newbie, just putting that out before everone hears my question. Do they ever switch up some spots after they release the schedule, like maybe in two weeks they might change a couple times or do I just have high hopes and being greedy?

^^^There may be a couple minor changes over the remaining few weeks, like a 15 minute adjustment here or there, but it's about 98% the way it will be.
While I don't want to knock the spectacular job they've done yet again with scheduleing, there is one thing that sticks out like a sore thumb: why did they put The White Stripes on Which Stage? With their huge draw that place will be so rediculously packed. To paraphrase Dr. Tobias Funke, people will be ass-to-ankles.

Oh man this is no good, no good I tell you! Where do my problems begin? First off, Xavier Rudd is playing right before Harper and at the same time as Williams/Ween. I love love love Ben but I've seen him before and I kinda wanted to check out Keller's show, because who knows Xav and Keller may play together? BUT my sister, who Im going with, wants to see Ben and she hasn't really listened to Keller before. SHOOT! It sucks big time that Cheese and STS9 are playing at the exact freakin time but I think I will have no choice to go to the Cheese show because it may be the very last time I will be able to see em and if I don't get to catch Keller's show, there may be a good chance he will play with them?
I also wanted to check out Ziggy but he's playing at about the same time as Xav(and there is no chance in hell that I will miss Xav play even though I will see him in my home town the day I get back from the roo). On the bright side, I wanted to check out Hot Tuna (Im a huge anything related to Jefferson Airplane fan) and they are playing right before Xav.
Im also a little upset about The Black Keys playing at the same time as Dierks Bentley (NOT because I like Dierks but because again my sister wants to watch him. She only requested to see two bands, him and Ben Harper so I cannot be a greedy bioch)
I am glad that Clutch will be playing @ the same time as Tea Leaf Green on Thurs, so the TLG show wont be crowded and the same goes for The Flaming Lips/Mule show, so the Mule show wont be as crowded.
Also, I don't think I will leave the WHAT stage at all on Sunday because all the bands playing that day have my preference then the others.
So how is everybody going to decide which/what band to see?

Pie.. Ziggy's set will def be a MUST SEE... I'm tellin ya.
Don't tell me this!!!! I just cannot miss Xavier Rudd because I'm such a huge huge fan, plus this will be the first time I'll get to hear him play stuff off his new album live. Gosh darn it!!! I wish Saturday wasn't so packed with the best stuff...if only they could move some of it over to Thursday. Oh welllllllll it's still gonna be a freakin good time

^^Karma for being a great destroyer... Im hoping to see nine inch nails make it to roo one year along with bowie and the pixies... but thats just me...
anyhow, my conflicts are as follows:
friday night . . . sts9/ sci/ shadow/ medeski/martin . . . wtf. I swear I will never get to see any form of MMW because every year they overlap with another good band.
I think I will be chilling mostly at sound tribe though, just upset that my friend will be leaving me to go see shadow, and hell maybe I will join him... interested in who is tbd though...
sat. afternoon: I will be seeing ween for sure, but I know my friends will be at ben harper and keller
im happy with the rest of it though, catching the lips saturday night then off to sasha/ digweed
get to catch weir, wilco and white stripes on sunday though...
and is it just me, or would anyone else rather have the police close? Ive seen widespread a few times, and im let down that its my only choice for sunday night...
"Music has always been a matter of energy to me, a question of Fuel. Sentimental people call it Inspiration, but what they really mean is Fuel. I have always needed Fuel. I am a serious consumer. On some nights I still believe that a car with the gas needle on empty can run about fifty more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio." -Hunter S. Thompson

AGREED! ;D I really do hate that sci/sts9/shadow/Medeski-Martin. Those are going to be my busiest hours.
And def. agree about Widespread closing.. kinda weak to leave off on that in my opinion.
