This thought came to me while responding to a different thread about how someone was going to see Galactic over Mule because of all the guests....I checked my journals....I've seen Mule 14 times in the post-Woody era, and only twice in that time did they play without any guests.
The people they brought up included: Mike Gordon, Page McConnell, Trey Anastasio, Rob Barraco, Chuck Leavell, Dave Schools, Tim Ries, Oteil Burbridge, Stefan Lessard, Jack Cassidy, Gregg Allman, John Scofield, Audley Freed, Vernon Reid, Corey Glover, Robert Randolph, Bernie Worrell, Toots Hibbert, Chris Robinson, Alvin Youngblood Heart, Kid Rock.....and more!!!
The question is....who do you think the Mule will bring out at Bonnaroo this year? Will it be limited to people playing already of will they have some special friends?

"Gov't Mule will be playing the late night set at Bonnaroo on Saturday June 16th. Due to the extra allotted time this won't be your normal Gov't Mule Festival show, so make the trip to Manchester. Tickets are available through www.bonnaroo.com." From Mule's site.
People i'm hopin for who aren't already at roo are Robert Randolph, Bernie Worrell, John Scofield, and Victor Wooten. I believe none of these guys have dates during roo, so its a possibility.
Man I've been excited about this every since that qoute/\ originally showed up. They are gonna be lots of guests and Im guessing a few badass covers too. Good Good Stuff

I've always thought about Mule as the GREATEST cover band in the world....don't get me wrong, I love their songs....but what really turns me on is when they pull out a crazy song that you'd never expect....and then play the hell out of it!
Masters of War->Rockin In The Free World->All Along the Watchtower->Rockin In The Free World...in New York, five weeks to the day after 9/11 was one of the greatest things I've ever seen...gave me goosebumbs then and again just now as I thought about it.
I figured Victor would be around the roo somewhere...Mule doesn't do much by way of guest bass players though since Andy became officially part of the band....or is that just my experience?

Something else i just noticed is that Umphrey's last date till the 20th is the 14th, and Jake just sat in with him at Mountain Jam and he also isn't playing again till the 27th..... I think with so much time off then they will be probably be at roo, although maybe not playing.
Just going by who is gonna be there on Saturday I would guess Jorma and Jack and the Dickinson brothers are a shoe in to jam w/ Mule. If Panic gets in a day early you know Dave Schools and possibly Jojo will sit in w/ um too.
My biggest conflict all weekend is Mule vs. Galactic. Reading this thread isn't making the decision any easier. I was sorta leaning toward Galactic 'cause of all the guests, but now I really don't know.

No conflicts here, If you dig what Mule does on stage this show cannot be missed. I would love to see The Lips, and Galactic but there is no way I would miss any of the Mule show.

I'd love to see Cody guest too, maybe do the electric washboard thing he did at The Word in 05'. Regardless that guy just has a ton of energy, and its fun to watch him play.
