This man came up to me just the other day, asked me I'd been born again. I told him, "I didn't think I had." That I had been rejected. But I think, Hell's got all the good bands anyway. And Bonnaroo.

I'm probably the Biggest Xav fan on here, w/o a doubt! I'll be there at his show in my Rudd Bud Shirt. WOOT!!! So excited to hear him play his new tunes....they're AMAZING if you haven't already heard them.
I love Xavier Rudd! Glad someone else is excited as me about it. Saw him play roo before and it was just beautiful. It'll surely be a treat with what I've heard of the new stuff...

I love Xavier Rudd but he is playing during Damien Rice's set so I can only see his first 15 minutes. I hope he plays Messages or Let Me Be while I am there. Or I hope one of the two's schedule gets messed up and I can see them both. That raises a question: How set in stone are the schedules at 'roo normally?
The new songs are really good, but I just don't like the "full band" feel of them. I honestly enjoyed the solo, one-man-band feel of all the other albums. This just sounds like Xavier and the Hum (his band) all over again. Minus that, they're good songs and I'm sure they'll sound awesome when he's playing them all by himself live!
I CANT WAIT. If people want to meet up before his set, let me know. Before him, I'll be at Regina Spektor.

I most certainly am. I don't post there much, but I'm always around lurking, if nothing else.

This was my #3 set at Bonnaroo...highly recommended to see at any time. If i had to recommend a cd, I would recommend "Food in the Belly". One of his first and my favorite...
A friend of mine played me some of his music the day before his set, and his set became a must see for me. I got front row for his set and was blown away by it. Loved his little interlude into 'Iron Man'.
I love alot of his live work. all of his work with the hum is out of print unless you can find it on ebay. live in canada is also good but is out of print you will find the song "jack" on that cd it is a big hit. so as far as live albums go live at the grid or good spirit are great but ,to let ,solace, food and the belly, and white moth are also good i just like good sprit and live at the grid.
i am scouring the internet for a set list now, and really, really hope this is a soundboard that gets sold, or some tapers get a copy out there in the next week or two.
Maybe I'll throw myself to the dogs, but my back's not to the wall Maybe I'll lay some bricks for the man, but the days just aren't that long So if I settle back and chill will I see far enough to feel the angel's dream? I thought it was the Story of the World!
I'm a big Xavier Rudd fan, unfortunately his set time conflicted with Damien Rice, and I'm seeing Xavier in Detroit and Cleveland this July so the decision was really easy. I'm super excited for the two shows I'm going to, though!!
I'd highly reccomend Solace, it is a phenomenal album. Food In The Belly is his second newest, it is really good, too. I'm supposed to be getting White Moth, his newest album, tomorrow. I ordered it through Amazon.com. I'll review it and let you guys know how it is!
To Let, his first album, is excellent and I highly reccommend you get it if you can find it. I know it is on Amazon, but the price is listed as like $35.99 or something ridiculous. He plays the title track on every set list I've seen, it's usually long and extended with lots of jamming at the end. The studio version is great for dancing, too!
I love Xavier Rudd, and I think it's great that out of all the songs I could have put on my 'roo07 cd sampler before I went, I chose Gift of the Trees and he played it. awesome!
But the PA sounded a bit farty. Keller took like 15 minutes to fix it at the beginning of his set.
Yeah, the sound could've been a little better, but I was close enough not to really care. It was still one of the highlights of my weekend. I got a bunch of decent pictures of him too.
