Who was the most psychedelic performer at Bonnaroo this year, in your opinion? Psychedelia is one of the most important aspects of a good quality show for me... I wanna see and hear things that get me revved up and feelin good.
flaming lips during the observer was ridiculous, i looked at my friend, who was being stupid and staring at the ground flashing his lazer pointer and said "dude are you seeing this?!"

The Flaming Lips, they inspired my personal favorite quote of the weekend. One of my neighbors was explaining the Lips show to his friend for about ten minutes and when it was over his buddy just said, "Are you SURE you weren't tripping last night?". It was awesome.

I'd say hands down the Flaming Lips. I was describing this show to a friend yesterday and it went something like this:
"So they entered the stage via UFO and then the lead singer rolled on top of the crowd in a huge inflatable gerbil ball for a few minutes. Then they launched so much confetti in the air that it felt like it was raining orange squares the entire show!"
My friend's response: "That must have been some good acid you were on..."
tool and flaming lips.. But I had my own trippy show going on during tool so i cant say much about it but from the few glances i took and the videos online

Ya know... I liked Tool, but the music for me just isn't that psychedelic after having heard some of their bigger hits for the last 8-10 years or so. I thought the Flaming Lips and DJ Shadow just had that intangible mind-bending quality that comes from great music that tends to stick in your brain, visuals from their stage set, and the general vibe of the crowd.

Tool was something to see outdoors (totally different feel in an arena) but The Flaming Lips were without a doubt the show to see last weekend! Try explaining it to someone that wasn't there... they will assume you were on acid (which I was)!

Besides the previously stated acts with which i agree, i'd have to say Rod Y gab (end of the set rod was tripping me out with those odd harmonics and morello-type strokes), Ornette Coleman (thankfully i walked away right before he passed out but i was powerfully dadreaming during the first 40 mintues), Widespread Panic (pretty much what i expected, super crazy jams and solos, but i was caught off gaurd by how goofy they all looked on the Lickwid)

1. Tool (look at the fucking pictures. are you kidding me? i thought my mind made most of that stuff up) 2. Flaming Lips (best show of my life. after it was done, all i could think about was tom waits singing "let me fall out of the window with confetti in my hair") 3. Ween (as always, a fuckin blast) 4. STS9 (didnt catch the whole set or much of it at all but from the look/sound of it, wow)
