its not the acts. it is the people the acts attract. the other boards are saying there is room for metal because mastodon will be there. well metallica and mastodon and a bunch of thraashers. great bonnaroo's first mosh pit.

I am really bummed by Pearl Jam and Metallica. This will be the first year I dont plan on going to the main stage friday or saturday night. I am only really excited for Sigur Ros, Lesh, Umphreys, DCFC, Jose Gonzales, MIA and Kanye. So far this is a fairly weak lineup. I dont know if I can justify the $220 for a ticket plus travel. I would rather go to something less expensive.
Am i wrong or does this just seem really really different from all the other years, in a bad way a really just commercial way, i think yeah there is some good stuff on there, but there is also some really bad stuff, where is that thing that is going to make bonnaroo different from coachella or lolla right now just looks pretty plain just recycling old headliners from other festivals.

I see where your comin from on that, but during the White Stripes show last year(AMAZING!!!) there was crowd surfing and a lot of pushing/shoving, I knew ROO was evolving into more then a Jam festival, Which is what they have always claimed to be.
i agree with you becca 100% this is just the first "release" of bands. yes it may be the majority but there will be more to come and i got a feeling there will be surprises in the 2nd"release" of bands.
think about how much this goes against the original bonnaroo spirit. it was about jam bands and free trading of music. now somehow metallica is there. i'm not straight talking shit cause i will rage to metallica's 80s stuff every now and then, but this is now a band that is the epitome of commercialism. they ruined a free music service because they weren't getting paid for their music as if they were broke musicians. all i can hope is that the other music festivals which i love don't go in the same direction.
Since no one is excited about the headliners, the next thing people will complain about is all the mid tier bands will all be playing at the same time because that is all people will want to see.
who said no one isn't excited about the headliners? Pearl Jam is going to be amazing, i stand by that they are one of the best live acts out there...metallica isnt at the top of my list but i'm still open to seeing them play...jack johnson should bring some good vibes...and not to mention theres a solid handful of artists that would be headliners at any other festival (robert plant, willie, B.B., Phil and friends the allman brothers)...and pleanty others! well done bonnaroo

the only word for that lineup besides disappointing is underwhelming...never thought id see metallica AND pearl jam headline bonnaroo...as for jack johnson...well ben harper is more deserving than a headlining spot...

I pissed what a lame line up. There are no good festivals to go to this summer. Metallica? Kanye West? PISSED!!!!! Those selfish rich bastards at bonnaroo?? And Pearl Jam?? when is Phil going to play 12am??? $210 for tickets?? MTV FEST!!! RUINED THE VIBE the VIBE IS GONE. Metallica 15 years ago would have been cool. But not at a chill fest like this. Woodstock 99 all over again. Levon Helm will be cool. My morning jacket always rules. Wow that is aggravating no WEEN NO WIDESPREAD NO NEIL YOUNG?? CRAP FEST THAT REALLY SUCKS!!

Don't worry Becca. The real inforooers are still here, and will continue to be here long into the future. Tension is high among some people right now, but I can assure you that the overwhelming spirit of Bonnaroo is still alive and kicking. I'm happy as hell frankly. I have been happy every year, and I'm perhaps even happier with this lineup.
this is missing the jamband/classic rock roots that made it popular commercial is the only word that comes to mind, while there at it they might as well add my chemical romance, fallout boy and or all the other terrible bands they play on mtv!
