If you noticed I had JBT at the top of my listening list I love all of their stuff and got to see them twice this year. Probably my favorite CD this year.

I am currently checking out the National. I already like Ben Folds and I love the Flaming Lips. I guess I will try Arcade Fire again.....

sorry about that man.. i didn't notice
have you ever heard Rusted Root?
Yes and seen them live a few times. I guess I am looking for newer stuff because I am just tired of some of the older, been around forever bands ( I also am old and have been around forever ).
I know you are overwhelmed, but I can't stop myself from chiming in. It was mentioned before, but Cold War Kids seems to be in line with what you already listen to. You may also like: Arctic Monkeys, Corrine Bailey Rae, Manchester Orchestra, Modest Mouse, The Decemberists, Gomez, and I'll throw in one local band that isn't known yet, The Soupbone Throne.

I already like most of the ones you listed - except the Artic Monkeys. I especially like Modest Mouse, The Decemberists and Gomez.
I have been listening to Ryan Adams, Band of Horses, Matt Costa and The National so far and really liking them, although I think The National might be one that doesn't really grow on me.

Karma for the list. Judging from the bands I know in the list, I'm thinking there'll be a lot to like among those I don't.
I saw Will Hoge @hob in Atlantic City, He opened up for LIVE.... I was amazed at how good he was ..although i think he sounds like Michael Bolton at times, I'd like to see him again live ..

Black Dice. Their album Beaches And Canyons came out a few years back and I still find myself coming back to it. Not for everyone though. Very ambient.

Yes most of them are a given - especially the older ones because I am a lot older than most of you here and grew up with them - Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Hendix, Steve Miller etc - I just don't listen to them much anymore but still love them (except for Michael Jackson!).

Yes I noticed we do have very similar taste.
I actually would like to listen to Umphreys but I don't really know where to start - I am pretty sure I would love them. Any recommendations of a good CD to start with?
I don't have any of their CDs, just live stuff. Their shows from Caribbean Holidaze last month were spectacular. Aly had posted one in sharing music, not sure if the link is still active, but one of us will re-up it if it's not. I've got a few other random Umph shows, but Aly is a better resource for them.
