Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
The thing that convinces me is that you have heard no denials of touring from the Led Zepp camp. It would be easiest for them to simply say, "it was a great one off, but we aren't touring." All speculation would end there.

I have not heard 1 word from led Zep's Camp about ANY TOUR ..... Have you ?
Superfly just has to concentrate on keeping the word spread of Zeppelin and Metallica down. Otherwise, it's going to be crazy, and very hard to handle ticket sales... And everything else for that matter.
At this point, there are waaay too many reputable sources leaking this info for it not to be true.
Good luck getting tickets everyone!
What are you talking about? Metallica denied it. And which "reputable sources" are you refering to?

I'm officially over all of this Led Zep talk. Round and round about the same dang news stories. We'll find out at the end of January. I hope all this infatuation doesn't lead to a big, fat disappointment. I'm jus' sayin.

I can't believe I'm about to type this. When Led Zeppelin doesn't show at Bonnaroo, I"m going to feel like a moron, but here goes.
The word "inaccurate" is still very interesting to me. It's also very interesting that the Zeppelin rumor keeps popping up in articles with all kinds of other "fishy" information - the Metallica bit and now the Plant pays Van Tramp's studio bill crap. Notably, noone says that the rumor is inaccurate. They say the following:
“It’s still a rumor and the information in the Mirror is inaccurate,” said Ken Weinstein, president of Big Hassle. “I speak on behalf of (promotor) Superfly and AC Entertainment.”
Well, that's true. Noone has confirmed Led Zeppelin yet (the rumor), and without question, at least part of the "information" in the Mirror is inaccurate - in my mind, the part about Van Tramp.
Here's what I think is happening: Superfly, et al. are planting this information in the press along with a bunch of other related garbage that they know they will be able to deny when it shows up in the press. Then they're sitting back, waiting, and letting the buzz slowly build on this thing. They've gotta be loving every second of this.
Hey, can someone post that Mirror piece again? I haven't found a link on this page yet! Hasn't anyone discovered it for the first time in the last hour and twenty-five minutes? : )

The way he worked it makes it sound like they're still in negotiations with the Mighty Zep.
This leads me to think they probably already have three headlining level bands signed with the flexibility to bump one down a notch if Zeppelin ends up headlining.
Look at all that is going on just over rumers of LZ. They never said they would play or denied they would. Many magaznes of confirmed they would but nothing from AC superfly or the mouths of LZ themselves. Plant is playing roo with Krauss thats all that has been confirmed.

I accused you of thinking like a lawyer the first time you pointed out the flexibility of the word inaccurate. Now there is a fresh rumor from a slightly more reputable source and again a response using that same word. Hmmmmm. I may owe you an apology when the announcements are made. Karma for now.

then what in the world does "inaccurate" mean? That they will all be there in different forms and get together on the jam stage?I'm curious as to what everyone makes out of this response to the rumor, what do you actually think it means?

Like Panic, and if Zep headlines we'll get our Thursday headline/sweeet latenight IMO
^^Or if two of the headliners are, say, PJ and Neil Young, I could totally see PJ deferring their headlining slot to Young with a special guest slot somewhere in Young's set.

Agreed. Your post got me thinking about where all this rumor mongering fits into the larger picture. The chances of an LZ one off show in the US being at Bonnaroo are slim to none. That's a big city show, not an out in the middle of nowhere mudfest. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love our middle of nowhere mudfest! I just don't see Bonnaroo being the sort of venue for that.
I do however, see them playing Bonnaroo as part of the rumored 18 month world tour. These preliminary rumors are to get the word out that Zeppelin is indeed going to tour, and to build the inevitable hype. As part of a larger tour, the Bonnaroo show wouldn't be the money maker for them. Instead, it would be the subsequent shows in large cities, where they could charge hundreds of dollars per ticket just for them. That would attract many of the people whom otherwise would not attend Bonnaroo normally away from our festival, and to much more profitable single, indoor shows.
Superfly, of course, get to reap the benefits of scoring one of the all time biggest names in music at their festival. Bonnaroo already has a legendary reputation as one of, if not the biggest and best festival of the year, and this would catapult them even further up. The fact that they're not selling any early bird tickets, as was mentioned other posts, indicates they're going to have no problems whatsoever selling out at whatever price they set. All in all, it seems to fit together well, at least in my head
Just my theory, I could be completely wrong, of course.

Well, I'd say that Billboard is reputable... eh? And the Tennessee/GA radio stations are also somewhat reputable simply because of the sources they have access to? If true, Tallica is surely under responsibility to help keep the hype down....
It has far surpassed the "silly rumor" stage is all I'm saying.... This had graduated to a "strong possibility".....
