i dont think this lineup blows at all...but saying that i would like to have...Raconteurs (great at lolla) Fatboy Slim (been wantin to see him since i was young) Animal Collective, MuM (not very well known but awesome) Battles of course! Half of all those dj's (diplo is good, Busy P, Datarock, Cut Copy) Dan Deacon Devotchka kicked roo's ass 2 years ago so you know they work! Kraftwerk is the original electronic stuff.. everyone loves sasha and digweed latenight! M.I.A Hot Chip and Gogol Bordello all some of my favorite bands.. Justice...Roger Waters...Simian Mobile Disco, Murs...Man Man!! so much good stuff i dont even wanna make the post that long.
Am I the only one shocked to see Kraftwerk on the main stage? I know they've been to coachella before, but it just strikes me as odd. Sure, they did help bring forth electronic music ,in general, and are one of the greatest Krautrock bands still going... but as a pre headliner, right before Portishead? If I got anything wrong, please feel free to correct me.
That said, my main ones to see from the Coachella line up are
The Verve (I loved their entire studio output, not to mention, they're very nostalgic to me),
Roger Waters (for obvious reasons),
Kraftwerk (again, legendary act, and I'm all for legendary acts at Roo, especially if I like them)
Battles (album from last year was great, seems like an interesting live act)
Love and Rockets (wished I could've seen Bauhaus in 06, this is a good hold over)
Annuals (missed them last year, would like to catch them sometime.)
Gogol Bordelo (inexplicably missed last year, would love to see them.)
Black Mountain (sounds like a really, really cool band; would fit in magnificently at Roo in a Thursday slot)
The Streets (Hey, I need a good laugh... once again, missed them in 2006, would love to see them)
Minus the Bear- i saw them 3 times in one weekend back in september and i'm still going through withdrawal.
Rogue Wave - just recently i've realized how much i really love this band
Death Cab for Cutie - i had tickets to see them at a freakin ice skating rink.... and passed them up to go to NYC for the weekend. i'm still regretting it!
Rilo Kiley
Stephen Malkmus & the Jicks
Islands - of course i love them, but mostly just REALLY want to hear the song rough gem!
personally i would like to see... Animal Collective M.I.A. Battles Man Man My Morning Jacket Raconteurs Portishead Stephen Malkmus Justice did i mention Animal Collective?
