So last year, the leaked lineup had (by my count) 14 of the actual performers.
Is there any chance that the "leak" is actually done by Superfly folks in an effort to drum up interest in the actual lineup which is released in the near future thereafter? Makes sense to me as a marketing tool....

Ahem. Give me on second here...
...BWAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA. Yeah. Right. That's the lineup.
I don't know about you guys, but I'm going to be camping DFC for Marilyn Manson. I bet he'll bring the heady tunes and have a jam session with Warren Haynes.

i've thought about that a lot of times...in fact i think i originally called out BonnarooDetective last year as being employed by SF/AC for some reason or other ;D
that lineup strikes me as odd because whereas Bonnaroo is typically greater than the sum of its parts, that lineup strikes me as one where you'd be much better off taking that lineup and making 4-5 smaller fests centered around specific genres of music. combining it all into one festival reduces the appeal of all its acts collectively, imho.
Maybe I'll throw myself to the dogs, but my back's not to the wall Maybe I'll lay some bricks for the man, but the days just aren't that long So if I settle back and chill will I see far enough to feel the angel's dream? I thought it was the Story of the World!

whether thats true or not, i just shat my pants, because of the shock and because of the disappointment thet there will be no slip i would miss a 5 hour zeppelin set just to see a one hour set from the slip. but anyway thats pretty insane
I hope that anyone who has been to bonnaroo can realize that this is a fake lineup.
Not only that, but I would bet $10,000 (of money that I don't have) that Coldplay, Van Halen, or The Eagles NEVER headline Bonnaroo. Together or seperately, those bands simply don't make the cut and cannot headline this festival. The Eagles are the only band that is a modest stretch, and even then I can't see them atop a Bonnaroo lineup. It doesn't fit.

Hey man, not to rain on your parade or anything, but I would start getting prepared for the idea that they may not appear this year. Given the fact that they played a set last year, the odds of them reappearing are significantly diminished.

a few thoughts:
1) the biggest reason to think this is a fake lineup is because we are PAST due for one. By this time last year we had about three.
2) the lineup is equal parts ridiculously good and ridiculously bad. I'd love to know more about the headcase who came up with it.
3) I wouldn't mind if this was the lineup. I'd take Manson to get Zorn, Kid Rock to get Vashti Bunyan, The Eagles for Deltron 3030, etc... The jewels are more valuable than the crap is useless.

Darn, and I got my hopes up for a Travis Tritt, Kid Rock, and James Blunt superjam!
Seriously though, one giveaway is where the artists are listed - I know the Counting Crows are unlikely, but even if they were on the bill they would not be halfway down, listed after Neko Case, Bustle in your Hedgerow, and Polyphonic Spree. Similiarly, I would never expect Cake and Leftover Salmon to near the bottom of any lineup.

I wouldn't mind if this was the real lineup, but I too am calling BS on it. I just don't see Marilyn Manson and Dragonforce playing 'roo. Even though they both put on pretty good shows. But as soon as I saw Kid Rock I laughed and realized it was BS. Even though he does put on a great show.

yeah, history has always shown us that we get at least a couple fake lineups, this is just the first fake lineup we've seen so far, however, the fake lineups usually have a few artists who actually do play
so lets change this thread from the fake initial lineup, to who from this fake lineup could HONESTLY, SERIOUSLY be there

BS....but awesome manson, gwar, pfunk, mars volta, a tribe called quest, cake, umphreys all in one weekend i would probably die
but bs none the less a tribe called quest isnt touring gwar would rather kill hippies then play for them manson would be a headliner ministry is done touring after this tour(i think) so i doubt they'd end it with roo

The bands on this lineupe that I could see playing, aside from the ones we already have confirmed are: The Mars Volta A Tribe Called Quest George Clinton (I can at least hope) The Shins Sonic Youth The Polyphonic Spree Cat Power Bone Thugs (I can also hope) Iron & Wine Grace Potter Blind Melon Cake Super Furry Animals Infected Mushroom The Word DJ Shadow & Cut Chemist Saul Williams Lotus Benevento Russo Duo
And I'm sure I'm missing a few. But those came off the top of my head and I didnt feel like reading the full thing again.
