Probably a lot of guys yelling over each other incoherently....sorry, I like hip-hop as much as the next guy (actually I probably don't, but I don't hate it)...and it pretty much always sucks live....
Cypress and LL Cool J were good live....
Wu-Tang, Snoop, Eminem, Ice Cube, Tribe, Black Eyed Peas, Sage Francis, Public Enemy, Wyclef, Kanye and every other live hip-hop act I've seen....not so much.
dj z-trip or cutchemist on the decks (or even both), one or 2 mcs (hip hop isn't just about the mcs), rahzel, *insert awesome drummer here*, graffiti artists in the background (maybe shepard fairey)...throw in some breakdancers if you want to get the whole 4 elements going.
i think one cool thing that could be done is a reunion of the invisibl skratch piklz. basically were a dj jam band. (mix master mike, q-bert, shortkut).
i know a lot of people think it wouldn't work because its common thought that hip hop is just about an mc. but really mcs are just the icing on the cake.

Kanye's live show is amazing, Eminem's show sucks, Wu-Tang is somewhere in the middle
Yeah...a hip hop superjam sort of misses the point of the super jam.
I don't think the Super jam needs to be hip/hop themed anyway for a hip/hop superjam of sorts to occur. I mean, wouldn't you call what Galactic did last year late night a hip/hop superjam?
What about a late night Roots set with guest mcs...

Why not have something like that? I think it'd be great... Terminator X spinning for, say, Rakim swapping in and out with Kweli? That'd be a far fetched dream for me.
Jamming is using instruments and improvising with a group right? Well, a turntable is their instruments, along with their voices.... with enough people and interactivity with each other, it would be a jam, would it not?

exactly. a lot of people seem to think that a hip hop jam would just involve a bunch of rappers. when in fact you could have a turntablist, beatboxer, drummer, mcs, and pretty much anything else. hell with the right dj, you wouldn't even need an mc making it that much cooler...it would just be an added bonus. its just as accessible to improvisation as normal jams are. idk maybe its what i've been exposed to as a dj myself but i think this has a lot of potential at roo. just my 2 cents.
with that said i would definitely want it as a completely separate thing and not to replace the normal starstudded superjam.
