So I figured I'd start a thread up so you all can get acquainted with some of the bands. Now I'm not going to post them all because that's quite an undertaking, and quite frankly I don't want to put up a song by a band that I don't know so I don't give people a bad impression of the band because of some lame song/video. So post what you got, rare stuff, common stuff, whatever. Videos, mp3s, whatever. If you're looking for a greatt place for finding mp3s to both download and stream go to www.skreemr.com/. If you didn't know about that one, that thing will save your life as it is. Anyhow, this is what I got so far. Feel free to add as you wish.
"Music has always been a matter of energy to me, a question of Fuel. Sentimental people call it Inspiration, but what they really mean is Fuel. I have always needed fuel. I am a serious consumer. On some nights I still believe that a car with the gas needle on empty can run about fifty more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio."
One good thing about music, when it hits you, you feel no pain. So hit me with music. Hit me with music, now, yeah. Hit me with music. Brutalize me with music.

I agree I like this thread; karma for you. Although, it would be a lot better if my computer at work had speakers. Oh well. I know what I'll be doing when I get home.

Against Me! - I'm gonna try and find a wide range of videos to show off their different sides, since they've progressed a whole lot, starting as a one-man anarcho-folk act, sorta like Woody Guthrie meets Crass, to their latest album, which is pretty mainstream, but still chock full of great songs.
Watch the movie Once. You'll instantly fall in love with the two lead characters, both of whom happen also to make up the Swell Season. You'll fall in love, i guarantee.
This is an awesome thread especially for people who aren't diggin the lineup so much. It's a great way to bring some light to some really awesome bands!

Awesome thread, man! steveternal and I are already going through albums of bands that we don't know and seeing what we think. It's a great way to plan your way around the lineup, once they release the schedule and all. We're such nerds--when the schedule comes out we sit down with the printout and circle things in different colors...
check out kexp, this an amazing, independent website. they have a ton of live sets, including some from m.i.a., my morning jacket, sharon jones and the dap kings and a ton of other folks.

Me and my buddy do the Exact. Same. Thing. Different colors, also. Considering how many bands on the bill this year that I don't know, I think this thread is awesome.
Thanks for the links that I would otherwise be too lazy to look for myself. Now I have to find some for you guys..
This man came up to me just the other day, asked me I'd been born again. I told him, "I didn't think I had." That I had been rejected. But I think, Hell's got all the good bands anyway. And Bonnaroo.
