They put the two days because those are the two days he could possibly play Bonnaroo. It doesn't mean anything other than he'll play either Saturday or Sunday.

But he also has an official listing as performing Saturday on his website.

i did notice that sangreal, every year i attempt to make a mock schedule, i think its easy to figure out where a few of the artists will be, but i've noticed there appears to be so many artists that i really believe they will either be adding another tent or increasing how many bands play each day in the tents, maybe starting a little earlier each day
for example, from fri to sun, in the tents, there are usually 4 bands plus the latenights, i think this year it could be 5 bands plus the latenights, and as for thursday i think they may be adding another band in each tent, and i think that on fri the music will start earlier on what stage

As I mentioned in another thread, I think the structure that held the jazz tent this year will no longer be dedicated just to jazz, but will hold up-and-coming acts all weekend.
[EDIT] so now that i've been researching pearl jam instead of doing class work ... on Pollstar it doesn't have them listed at all, and on pearljam.com it says "June 12-15: Bonnaroo" (no specific date)...
Obviousley, this means that Zeppelin is playing Saturday! haha

Or you could just read the official announcement on Bonnaroo.com...
Jack Johnson has chosen to join his friends Pearl Jam on the main stage Saturday night stepping into the slot vacated by the Allmans. Jack will perform beginning at sunset, to be followed by Pearl Jam's closing main stage set.
I love how diplomatic they were in announcing that Jack Johnson had been demoted from Sunday's headliner to Saturday's pre-headliner.

Well, it's not like they're going to pay him less or anything. He was probably happy to switch. Instead of playing while most folks are rooed out and getting ready to go, he plays in the slot when everyone camps out for the Saturday headliner.

I think that it makes the most sense to move Jack Johnson. Think about the other headliners. Metallica and Pearl Jam are full bands, with some sort of stage show/lighting set up. They also are more legendary (not calling them legends....but they are huge names in the music industry....much bigger than Johnson).
Also, Johnson probably was more mellow and fine with moving. Personally I woulda been happier with a laid back Jack Johnson party on Sunday night to close out....but Panic being added could be just as good.
I agree. This definitely makes a lot more sense to me. This will hopefully ensure that I get home at a reasonable hour on Sunday and that *fingers crossed* I can see all of DCFC's set if they do, indeed, play the "rock finale" spot.

Here's an interesting question. Porter's tourdates state that he is playing the "New Orleans Stage." What in the world is the New Orleans Stage? I'm pumped.

I think this is the New Orleans concept that was mentioned in the interview that I did with Superfly this year.
RF: New Orleans for sure. We started our business down there and it has such a great musical heritage. We were inspired by Jazz Fest and started out business doing a lot of show during the Jazz and Heritage Festival. Even the name of our festival came from a Dr. John album, so the city is very much about who we are. We are hoping to extend on this year by working on a new concept that will expand on New Orleans being a part of the festival. As far the New York aspect many of us that work for Superfly are from New York or have lived here. It has shaped us as people basically, so it has shaped us what we produce.
