I'm gonna tell my buddy about it, later today... he'll definitely be up for it. They are a band called "Flashbulb Memories" (not my type of music, but I gots to rep my peeps...) and play kind of radio friendly alternative rock. They should be interested... not that they'd make it , or anything, but it'd be a cool thing to attempt.
anyone remember in 06 when Devendra Banhart asked if there were any singer/song writers in the crowd and then let this one guy play one of his songs up on stage? I thought that was a really awesome thing to do and it wass great when the dude said "I can't believe I'm playing Bonnaroo right now"

robert randolph did the same thing in 06. got a kid from the audience to come up and play guitar.

I just signed up my band The Rickshaw. CHECK IT OUT AND VOTE FOR US PLEASE!!!! We're a funky groovy bluesy jamish band from Ohio. www.myspace.com/therickshaw THANKS A LOT BELOVED INFOROOSTERS!!!
I've entered my band in there. They're under "The Mother Superiors" the song's just a bit more bubble-gum pop-ish than the rest of the stuff, but we have some really good songs. Check it out. Let me know what you think, and vote if you like.
For the hell of it, I've also entered.... Under "Moe Train."
I've uploaded a couple of my solo stuff that could easily be done with a whole band. Check it out if you get a chance! Very upbeat and fun ska/punk/reggae that is great for daytime partying!
By the way, that's me on every instrument and all of the vocal parts. The magic of studio work!
Man, this would make for one hell of a story for the podcast!
"The Most Beautiful Girl I've Ever Seen" is already at #11 in the contest?? NICE! Playing Roo would be unreal... I've played a ton of other shows, but Roo is a different animal!

I wish they would do this for comedy. I've been writing and performing sketch for nearly ten years, and I'd love to enter my new sketch group "Show Pony."
OK, I'm gonna have to submit my old band too. We were called The Moondogs and played out of Charleston, SC many moons ago. We still get together a few times a year, so maybe it's not too late for us! Of course, I know a lot of folks don't care for the reunion tours, but what the hell. I'll let you know when we get signed up.

I have to say, these head to head judging contests are pretty addicting. Maybe not as much as inforoo, but pretty damn close! I still haven't come across anyone's submissions, but I will be sure to heavily favor any that I come across.
but seriously that would be amazing if you guys could help out fellow inforoo bands like The Rickshaw or The Mother Superiors!
Agreed. We're both still in the top fifty, and so there's still hope. Honestly even if we don't make it to the roo, this is such a good way to expose music to audiences. That's prize enough. We've gotten over five-hundred plays in less than 48 hours. This is prize enough.
On the note of my band, if anyone knows of any good bars/coffee shops in your home town that do live music, we've been trying to get out and do more shows. Also, if anyone knows any bands from these towns, that'd be good too.
Thank you so much for voting. You all will never know how much this means to us.
