as for sigur ros, i plan to attend that show and be blown away again but i still love to dance and plan on seeing many of the great 'dance' acts. So much to see and do, love it.

Sigur Ros will be a great way to rest and chill, while taking it all in. After that I will be moving over to whatever hip-hop or jamband that's still playing, and then my ass will be SHAKING at Tiesto.
And Dweezil didn't actually write any of Frank's music. That's a slightly different situation, though, as Frank Zappa is dead, so the only way to hear his music live would be a cover band

^Yeah, that's correct. Lots of people don't use it, but the "industry" term is tribute band. Usually people will just end up saying "AC/DC cover band" or "Led Zeppelin cover band."
Dark Star Orchestra's a perfect example, especially with the way they customize their intruments and other equipment to fit what the Dead were using for a single particular show. Plus, numerous members of the Grateful Dead have performed shows with DSO, which kinda kills that guy's theory that it is immoral to make money off songs they didn't write. I mean, the guys in the band they're playing covers of even like it.

I didn't say it was immoral. I just don't get why you wouldn't want to tour your own music. That said, it looks like you're looking forward to DSO and Zappa Plays Zappa, which is great. I might even be at DSO if no one else I want to see is playing at the same time.

Haha, actually, DSO's the only one I'm that interested in seeing...Lez Zeppelin I'll check out if nothing's going on, and the same with Zappa Plays Zappa.

DSO is fVcking awesome!
Playing your own tunes is a good way to go. But if you can actually cover The Grateful Dead and it sound half as good as they did. Its cool with me. The only other real cover band that I like, was The Machine. A Pink Floyd cover band. should def. check out there show, fo sho.

Yeah, The machine was pretty much a dead ringer, sound-wise.
"Tribute" is too nice of a word for someone going around and making money off music they didn't write.
I mean if you go back to the days when rock became prevalent. How many artist sampled the artistic styling and songs of other artist. I mean when you think "All along the watchtower"who do you think of? How many artist have covered that. hmm Jimi, the dead, DMB, pearl jam, neil young. I mean they made money off that. But does that make them any less of an artist? I don't think so
what makes you guys think lupe is getting a latenight slot?

That sucks...I mean the conflict makes sense, but Lupe and Sigur Ros are both in my top 10. Obviously I'd go with Sigur Ros, but I'd still love to see Lupe perform his new songs.

I know that we've argued at length about when and where Kanye will play. But if they announced Phil and MMJ's latenight slots in advance, it seems to me that they would announce something about Kanye being Thursday night. My money is still on something strange happening to the Sunday schedule.
