First off, excuse the excessive Karma hits. I took a beating during the whole Zeppelin debacle, was an ass, and ran away with my head between my tail.
Am I wrong about Pearl Jam not yet confirming Saturday night? I know we all assume they are, but why haven't the made it official? Am I looking too much into that?
That huge Coachella addition this close to their date just got me thinking. I am just really surprised they are were able to add someone that big, so close to the show.

They've had Prince in their back pocket for a while now, and have just been waiting to drop the bomb. I think we are also in store for a bomb, Eric Clapton for Superjam.
Some European flavor in the major artists department would be nice. Clapton would really make sense. But of course I have learned my lesson about conspiracy theories regarding bands playing Roo.

We're definitely in for a big surprise. I hope it's a really good one like Claptonprincemikepattonstephenmalkmuswilcoflaminglipselviscostellodavidbyrne. I love that band.
Well if you look at their tour page they have shows on Thursday and one Monday so it would only but make since that they'd play on Saturday. I know at one point it did list them on their site for Pearl Jam to play on Saturday. Guess we'll see though.

That would be a cool bomb. You think SuperJam will be latenight again?
i think everyone is getting their hopes too high for clapton. it was a mistake last year to put john paul jones in a tent and clapton is 10 times bigger than that. would they really do that?
yeah, I don't really see where everyones coming up with the Clapton stuff. I don't see it happen. Would love it (even though it would create quite a conflict) but just dont see it.

Coachella has somewhat of a history of adding a big name close to the festival. Maybe not Prince big, but whatever. I wouldn't even consider him that big of a draw anymore

He would probably headline this festival were he on the bill...

Agreed. Prince is easily big enough to be a Bonnaroo headliner.

Because Zeppelin is really headlining and it was just a long painfull hoax to make sure a deserving crowd gets the tickets.

Next time you run away, try doing it with your tail between your legs, instead of your head between your tail, and you might get away with less damage.

On the topic of Clapton, I'm not trying to get my hopes up, I just really think it's a possibility. Clapton is touring with Robert Randolph and the Family Band both before AND after Bonnaroo. They finish up their US dates before Bonnaroo and have a couple weeks off in between the end of their US leg and the beginning of their UK leg of the tour.
So with Robert Randolph performing under the little-known "Robert Randolph's Revival", as well as having old band mates and friends of Clapton at Bonnaroo (BB King, Derek Trucks, and more), what should stop him from dropping by the farm and playing with friends?
I agree with whoever said JPJ was a mistake for the tent. I couldn't get close or even get a good angle to see anything. I can't imagine the Superjam going up against what's already confirmed for latenight. I only started this thread because I recall every year, the headliners listed the exact date they were playing on their own websites. No big deal. Just different then I've seen it in the past. Doesn't seem like anywhere is confirming Saturday night.

I disagree, i think JPJ was great in a sort of "artist in residence" status, it's not like Superjam was the only place to see him. I saw him play with Gillian Welch, and i'm pretty sure he came out with galactic? and i think he played mandolin somehwhere else too.
Clapton however would be so much huger, he'd either need his own set or just be a confirmed guest for a bunch of stage acts. But i wouldn't get your hopes up for anything...
there not actually playing, it was all just a ploy by super fly to sell more tickets... a week and a half before Roo they will announce PJ is not able to play.

It was a mistake to put JPJ in the *smallest* tent.
If they're gonna do that to superjam again this year, at least put it late-night on one of the larger stages.
So, maybe today's "events" have something to do with Pearl Jam not confirming for Saturday night? I think if there is a Headliner add, Pearl Jam closes out the fest on Sunday.

I was just coming here to post that. I think you're onto something. Only time (or a sudden clue-derived insight) will tell.
