I'm just curious as to how many animal lovers we have here. What kind of pets do you have? What are their names? Are they the rulers of your home and do they have you under their mind control spell that makes you completely obsessed with them?
I have a cat named Piggy. She is grey and beautiful and I love love love her. She's actually in my lap right now! She's my heart! We rescued her from the Animal Shelter 2 days before she was going to be put to sleep! She has a weird habit of pulling the hair off of her butt right in front of her tail and off of her back legs. We give her flea treatments but she still does it....I think it's a nervous habit. Anyway, she's my beautiful bald butt and legs baby! I also have a black lab named Chloe. She's big and fat and everyone loves her. We had to tell our neighbors to stop feeding her snacks b/c she was getting too fat. The old lady that lives next door buys her apple flavored biscuits every Christmas. She has a dog house that is big enough for me to get inside of and stand up straight (and I'm not a short person). It also has a light and a ceiling fan. She's very spoiled. I LOVE MY PETS!!!

i have a boxer named scooby [compliments of the rescuer] but we call him gobber doobie scoobs etc., he was the runt of the litter, had a broken leg at an early age so he still has a scar on his right leg from the iv, when the "boxed" his ears, they took one of the bandages off early so one ear is boxed and the other just flops on to his head!! its too funny. he does this jump twitch looking thing where he curls his budy and hops like a bunny, when we have parties and are in our circle or dancing etc, he gets right in there and sits like a human, he does this thing where he'll put his paws on your thighs and get right in your face but look to the side hahah ai love my dog.. my mom lets him curl up on her lap with a blanket and hes scared as hell of thunder.. i've lost 3 other dogs in my life due to the fact that all the pure bread's we've had, had health problems.. i'll be crushed when i loose my goober...
Organized religion destroys who we are by inhibiting our actions... by inhibiting our decisions, out of... out of fear of some... some intangible parent figure who... who shakes a finger at us from thousands of years ago and says... and says, "Do it - Do it and I'll fu(kin' spank you."
I have an American Eskimo, aka Eskie, named Liffie, that I inherited from my grandson, after we discoved that his allergies wouldn't allow him to have pets. Liffie has been my constant companion for 10 yrs. now. We also have a tabby cat named Princess, her days are numbered as she can't find her pee box anymore and constantly pees on the rug!

stress at a young age... that's what the vet tells me. my friend has a cat with the same problem because she lost her mother at such a young age. this can be attributed to any traumatic experience so yeah. we just call her kitty "naked butt cat"
As for my animals, I have two cats right now. Walker, who's about 7 years old and is a white turkish angora who was adopted clinging on to life (the sis and i nursed him back to health). He's stupider than a box of rocks but loves EVERYONE and plastic to death. MY kitty, Chihiro (pronounced Chi {not as in chi-chi's}-here-oh) was a replacement for my last friend kitty. We found her at a shelter and she was also having quite a few problems, so nobody would adopt her. She's one of those black and white tuxedo type cats, but you cant see any white if she's being lazy. She's also dumber than a box of rocks, but her and my the dog tend to work together to tip over the trashcans. The last and oldest animal would be Dusty. He's 13 years old and pee's all over the place. Cocker Spaniels dont like to be that old I suppose. He used to be smart but lost hearing in both ears and has really bad vision. Poor puppy. Ok. Enough of my longwinded descriptions of my animals. I just love them a LOT

I have had animals my entire life. Right now I have a dog named Jasmine, but I just call her Jazz. She is a mix breed, not sure what, but she is the coolest d**n dog I've ever had. She does this awesome trick where she stands up(she can stay standing for like 3-4minutes) I balasnce a treat on her nose and she flips it up and catches it. She also hates the grass. We have to force her to go in the grass or she'd just craps on the patio. Shes like 10 or 11, and very spunky for her age.
I also have a cat that is a stray. Our family just calls him Kitty-Kat. I call him Zoidberg, a characterfrom Futurama, because no one likes him but my mom and he is always fishing for attention. It is cool how he found us though. One night watching the Simpsons with the family like 10 years ago he jumped up on our window cill and just started Meowing. My dad hates cats because he's allergic, and tried to chase him off. He just kept coming back. So my mom eventually got my dad to cave. The first night we had him he shat in our sand box.

MY kitty, Chihiro...
as in spirited away's chihiro? good movie =]
boku no neko namae wa fuku desu. my cat's name is fuku. one night at work, i walked out to my car to get something, and i heard a faint 'meow' coming from someone's engine compartment. i started to call the kitten, but she was being very shy. eventually i acted like i was walking away and she pursued me. then i turned around and grabbed her. my workplace happens to be a foreign trade zone for japan so i gave her a japanese name. fuku means happiness and luck in japanese.
i also have a cat named mr.whiskers, but he's been adopted by an older lady down the street. she loves him so much, she asked me not to keep him inside. he's in good hands, and i still visit every now and then.

works surprisingly well on hippos, and god knows there's nothing like a good hippo tackling to scream LIFE!
yeah, i have a shi-tzu named "sushi" and she's a gorgeous little black & white devil. i swear to god, she sleeps like 20 hours a day in her old age ((11 years)), but still moves her little ass around when provoked. she's 8 lbs of love, and has claw issues, so she's licking herself constantly. regardless of how often she's groomed, or how relentless we are in keeping her nails short, she licks & licks & licks. we've been told by the vet it's just something we'll "have to deal with," and there are really no physical issues that would provoke such nursing. she doesn't mind, so we've gotten to the point that we don't bother ourselves in worrying about it too much anymore either.
if you put on warren zevon's "werewolves of london" she'll howl for the entirety of the song. hell, if you just mumble the "dun dun, dun dun, dun dun dun dun" geetah lick she'll start making noises.

I have a dog (golden retriever and spitz mix) named Sprocket we named him after Doc’s dog on Fraggle Rock if anyone remembers that show. He was hanging around a campground we were camping at one fall. The campground officer loaded him into his truck and was going to get rid of him so we ask if we could take him with us, that was five years ago. We often call him Don Quixote because he chases phantoms in our back yard. I mean just out of the blue he’ll start barking and fly off after nothing –just wants attention or brain tumor – I don’t know. Even though he’s sometimes a little unstable (I have a couple uncles like that) he’s family and we love him.

new addition to the family 'roku' was found yesterday by a friend who works at the same place i do. another forgien cat... roku has an extra toe on each front paw, and her name means six in japanese. she's very sweet ^.^ her and fuku are working out who the alpha cat is, but i think they'll be ok.
We have 2 cats..both mostly black..Maggie is 2 and Lucy is 7 months. Lucy has lots of "splaining to do". Maggie is teaching her to be a good mountain cat and climb trees to get away from coyotes. I will get another dog in July or August. I had to put my 11 year old lab mix Denali, down in December. She was an avalanche rescue dog and loved to ride on snowmobilies and the chair lift. I am finally not expecting her to meet me when I come home.. She was the first animal I have had cremated and some of her ashes are spread at the mountain where she worked.

Two cats, Madchen and Blitzen. Madchen is almost 11, gray long hair, and very good "watch cat" who growls at night if she hears noises she finds concerning. (I live alone, and her growl is sure to make my heart beat a little faster if it wakes me up in the middle of the night.) She's very smart and nimble. Blitzen is about 4, huge/white/fluffy ball and bigger than many small dogs. Not the sharpest tool in the shed, plods along as though his grace was stolen while a kitten, and loves attention from anyone so much that a friend nicknamed him Blitzen The Love very *friendly* person. [Ha! Sl*t rhymes with hut was changed to "very *friendly* person"!] Both are good housemates.
I've had animals my entire life. There is only the one cat where I live now. Paprika, she was a stray that was hanging around the house when we moved in, So Bridget (a roomate) and I got nice with her and now she live inside with the four of us. She a nut and a half though. Like most cats.
At my parents house there are two cats and two dogs and a bunch of parrots. Morgan and Maggie are the two dogs, neither one of them has the sense god gave a brick but I love them to death, I like going over the house and playing with them in the yard.
Sweetie is a gray and white FAT cat, I found her under the dumpster about 6 years ago at work. My boss at the time comes in and asks me to look at this cat outside. Her insides were hanging out. So we called the SPCA and told them. For three days I called and they ingored me so I took her home, took her to the vet to find out she had been shot with a .22. The bullet shattered off her ribs and she had a limp, there were several pellets and bbs inside her. For the first year we'd find them as they worked there way out of her. She thinks she's a dog. She'll jump up into your lap and force you to pet her.
Whiskey is my spoiled rotten cat. My ex gave her to me for christmas after my African Grey died. She's so rotten. When I was at my apt she'd jump in the shower in the morning. Ever try to take a bath with a cat licking your forehead?

[glow=green,2,300]I've got a dog, Lakota who's almost 8 years old. She's an Australian Shepard, and my family got her at a reunion out in South Dakota. We also have 8, yes 8 cats in the house. We used to foster kittens when they were abandoned, so we’d have to bottle feed them and all that fun stuff until they were old enough to be adopted. Well, we stopped doing that and the last “batch,” if you will, my family couldn’t part with. I love animals, so I don’t mind.. but I gotta admit… allergies are a biiiiitch haha[/glow]
I've got a Weimareiner/German Shorthaired Pointer named Jamocha Bone Paxton. We call him MochaBone. He is my disc golf buddy and you can hear people all over the course yellin "mocha boooooonnnnneee" as if they were saying "smoke a bone". We are proof that pets look like their humans or vice versa. Brown hair and green/red eyes. He's my boy.

Got a cat, Willie, from the pound when he was a tiny baby. Four years old already. He's still sure he's a kitten. Actually, he just caught his very first mouse a couple of weeks ago. I'm so proud!! (He's been a terrible wuss up to this point.)
Also, got a 33 gallon aquarium. Gouramis, angelfish, danios, and a honkin' big pleco to name just a few.
I am definetly an animal lover, and am especially obsessed with cats. I have actually been a lurker on this board for a couple of weeks and finally registered so that I could post on this thread. My pets are limited right now, but I have three cats. They were all strays that I started feeding and then adopted, or were given to me by friends that couldnt keep them. And yes, they do have mind control over me.

I have 11 cats and one dog. Even though 9 of the cats and the dog are my mom's house i still claim them. So the nine cats are Cole, Garfield, Teddy Bear (aka Casey, we couldn't agree on a name so he has two), Petunia, M.J and C.J (not sure what they stand for because my little brother decided their names), and finally George. My Dog is a lab named Rusty, he is like my mom's child and very spoiled. Then a my Dad's (where i presently live) i have two cats named Bonnie and Clyde.
this is my 17 year old cat, Fritz.....no that's not a typo.....he really is 17 and i've had him since he was 6 mos old.....but since my wife's pregnant we had to send him to live with my parents til christmas......i really miss him
Thats so sad... If I couldnt see my kitties for any long period of time I would go crazy. I'm sad to leave them just for Bonnaroo. I hope you do get to visit him a lot. But it will be the best christmas present when you can have him back.
yeah i get to visit him......but it isn't the same......but it is for a good reason at least.....
and i used to raise geckos and had a snake, but the last roommate i had lost the snake and giant day geckos are the easiest to hand tame so i gave them all to a friend of mine's daughter cause i couldn't play with them......i am planning on getting a fat tailed gecko though since you can handle them more.....
