Anybody watching the new season? I just got into this show. I watched all of the first five seasons on On Demand. (I would actually sit and watch like six episodes in a row.....like I didn't have other stuff I needed to be doing!) Now my boyfriend and I are watching them together (it's going slower though because we have to watch them on DVD as the first seasons are no longer available On Demand, and we are getting the DVDs through Netflix, so there is considerable gap between watching them). Anyway, I couldn't watch last night because he isn't caught up yet, so I got up early this morning to see it!

Yeah I am watching the new season. I missed half of season 5 and I think I need to catch up on that. The ending is a real cliff hanger for the fist episode.
some people are saying that that was the 'final episode', since everythng was so moved forward, and maybe they backtrack the rest of the season leading up to that. but i doubt it. i think Tonys gonna have a heart attack before its done.
I think if this is really the "first" episode then Johnny Sack's crew is going to try and move on Jersey and take control in the area. I figure Tony will give orders through Christopher to Silvio and then they will disperse them to the rest of the crew.
I can't think that Tony is dead because in every commercial or preview he is there. I remember one where he is sitting in front of Satriale's talking to Benny. Maybe the rest of the season is going to be a flashback? But then there are the clips with Uncle June sitting in prison so I don't know. Can't wait till Sunday night.
I don't think the season will all be a flashback. I figure they are going to want to have some big climactic ending to the show (except that my boyfriend heard that the creator had said that he might leave open the possibility of a seventh season).
Yea that was a strange one. I take it the dream sequences were what Tony's life would have been like had he not entered the mob. I feel like the show is going to end with AJ killing Uncle Junior (you never would have predicted that when the show premiered, I mean damn I thought Junior was going to be dead in the second episode). Chris and Paulie need a spin-off after the series ends. They're like a great pair of buddy-cops but in a mafia setting.
You can't trust Vito any further than you can throw him. Wouldn't mind seeing Silvio run the show for a while, then face a power struggle with Paulie, climaxing in Chris killing one of them . . . ok, i know i'm just fantacising at this point. Anyway, it's strange, based on how the doctors talked in this episode and the preview for next week, Tony could be dead of have brain damage, perhaps episode one really was the "last espiode" and much of the rest of the season will fill in some in between. Although . . . I thought I heard Dr. Melfi (i can't recall the actress' name) say on the Colbert Report that they had 12 episodes and then a mini season of 8 coming. This would probably be way too many episodes in which to just "fill the gap". Either way, I love it!
Lorraine Bracco is her name. You heard it correct, and they may make a movie as well.
I still think Tony will make a full recovery, but beforehand it could result in some major crew members from NY and NJ dying. I still am referring to the preview episode for the season where there are tons of clips of Tony.
Yea, good to see Tony out of the "Finnerty" sequences. Clips from next week show him fairly cohereant and talkative. Paulie better check himself, less he wreck himself. And I continue to hate Vito . . .

amen to that, that f*ckin Vito is probably gonna dissappear soon, thank god. I am curious though to see what is gonna happen with him and Finn. If he does anything to hurt him and Meadow knows, then its gonna be curtains.....lol
Hilarious Episode. Not too much going on, definitely a set up episode, but there were great scenes. Paulie's little rant that drives Tony into cardiac arrest was high comedy. But the movie investor scene had me rolling on the floor. The Cleaver is coming at you in '08 so you folks better be ready.
That was funny when Carmela turned to the elevator and saw the looks of shear disgust on both Vito and Paulie.
Vito is going to go bye bye real soon I hope. He's just annoying. But he is the top earner for the crew. But so was Ralphie and so was Richie Aprile, and they both went.

I keep waiting for Vito's "head shot" to get outed- and quick.
My guess is Bobby in the cross-fire as Pauly and Vito duke it out.
Yeah, that whole Vito "headshot" (lol) thing is gonna come out soon, and it's not gonna be pretty, but it is gonna be pretty funny...lol
And I hope nuthin happens to Bobby, he's too nice a guy, and it seems like he is just trying to take care of his family.
bobby may be a 'nice guy' but im sure hes done some bad shit in his time You always have to remember that when watching anything mafia related. i love it
Bobby used to run with Junior, so he was against Tony for awhile there when they had the power struggle. Also, I remember an episode where Bobby walked into a bar and did a subtle, "I'm not threatening you but I am" to a Union Manager. He seems to get his points across with just words, but in the commercial I saw recently he is all up in Paulie's face screaming.
I don't think Paulie will get killed, he's too classic and too good of a character (maybe, just maybe, if it happens it the very last episode or two. I don't think Tony could ever bring himself to kill Paulie, but if anyone, I'd guess Christopher, or maybe someone with Carmine's crew. That was a hilarious episode; and that rapper isn't going to get famous, because Bobby shot him in the ass. Rappers who almost die are "cool", but to hear on the news that someone got shot in the butt, well thats just silly. And there have been noticable refrences to Buddhism in not just this season, but ones prior. Janice, whom i loathe, was a buddhist. The religious men who had a greavence with "Finnerty" were buddhist, and communicated several ideals while he visited their temple. The saying that mysteriously appeared on the wall is Obijewe, but it has undertones of "interdependent arising", and buddhist concept. But what I found most interesting of all was the words of the rocket scientist (the old man with nasal cancer). What he said about the boxers, being one in the same, as well as his tornado analogy and the belief that consciousness is just our means of experiencing the world are all very central points to buddhism, and the tornado analogy is used in some "western" buddhist textbooks. I dunno if there is something here, but I found it very interesting.
