The worst concert I've been to was a high school girlfriend related concert. It was the Weezer Maladroit tour. Sparta and Dashboard Confessional opened. Sparta sucked (except for the drummer). Dashboard was suckeriffic. And Rivers Cuomo was just bizarre. Weezer wasn't bad, but they weren't good either. Waste of money and even worse than the previous year's gf concert Matchbox 20 and Train, a bad concert in and of itself.
for a guy who kills it on cd, straight sucked live
Yes! I was so disappointed and pissed off. I drove an hour to Austin to see him on a Monday night, and he was on for maybe thirty minutes. His DJ and some rapper Robert Johnson (I think) stalled for about a hour until Doom finally came out. So he came out at like 12:30 and the club closed at 1. I had to drive home at 1 and ended up falling asleep a few miles outside of where I live and nearly crashed my car.

I think my vote is the stop I saw from this tour. The Strokes were supposed to open for dashboard and Weezer. Julian broke his leg so the strokes backed out. Dashboard kinda blew and weezer would have been good if the venue wasnt a ampitheater with an empty pavilion. Just wasnt very exciting.
worst concert ive ever seen no doubt was the opener for the chillie peppers a while back. i mean this band just sucked, i mean they really really sucked, it was horrible. i remember thinking, "wow how can anyone suck that bad" peppers were decent though

doom related - wow you got a dj w/ metalface all we had was a cd player-doom- and an outrageous annoying hype man he did play oput for like an hour an 15 minutes though oh yeah and the sound was mixed poorly despite multiple complaints to the soundboard
i saw beck at the uic pavilion the day before roo 03 and dashboard opened they sucked horribly and then beck came on and a drove of aabout 1000 teens left the place, i lost a very small bit of faith in humanity that night only to have it restored and then some the next four days
I can easily say the worst concert I've ever seen was O.A.R. at 'Roo in '03. Got dragged over to see them by a friend and it was the biggest waste of an hour. Even my friend thought it sucked and he was the one who wanted to see them. I think part of the problem is that it's really hard to see such amazing musicians like Stanton Moore, Charlie Hunter, and Skerik throwing down in one tent and then go over and see something so underwhelming like O.A.R. I guess thats the best part of 'roo though. You can walk away from one show and be totally absorbed in another in a matter of minutes.
I'd have to agree with Umphreak on O.A.R. Worst show in recent dates has been O.A.R. at the Tennessee Theatre. The venue is so good it's hard to imagine how they sucked so bad. I had one of their CD's I thought was alright, but they suck live.

Mine would also have to be girlfriend related, I got dragged to see SugarRay w/ Everlast opening. Everlast was decent at best, and he got booed off stage, and SugarGay made me want to swallow a razor blade.

Worst concert I ever saw was a band that opened for A Perfect Circle way back on their Thirteenth Step fall tour. The concert was in Knoxville. The band that opened for them was the Icarus Line. I can honestly say they were the worst band I'd ever seen/heard live.
However, A Perfect Circle saved the day and put on an amazing show.

This is a tie for me,Guns and roses really blew, Axle really sounded like crap ,long time ago probably 88ish, 2nd was jewel ididnt really like her anyway but an old girlfriend had tickets and so i went with an open mind talk about stinkin up the joint she even thought it was terrible maybe the only concert i ever left early ,I think rusted root opened up so it wasn't a complete waste
I'd have to second Sugar Ray. Saw em in 2000 I guess, at a FREE college fest in philly. I'd like to retiterate that it was FREE, and 2 Skinny J's were there, which is the real reason I went. Somebody in the crowd held up a sign that said "Sugar Ray Sucks". The @sshole stopped the show, brought the guy up on stage to mock him, and then the guy with the sign tried to say something in the mic, and he got pushed offstage. Extra Extra
A close second would be when I saw Jimmy Eat World, and Taking Back Sunday opened for them. Taking Back Sunday's lead singer is the biggest poser douche bag I've ever seen. He would twirl the mic around and throw it way up in the air(kinda like Mars Volta do, but not even to the music or anything just randomly to wow the 13 year old girls in the crowd)it hit one of his bandmates in the head at one point. JEW was good though, suprisingly.
Oh and I saw Papa Roach, at the same festival in Holland, that I saw Tool and Radiohead. The lead singer said that the one song is about curling up with a bottle of Jack Daniels in the corner and drinking your sorrows away. OK.

Nelly.
Nelly is awful across the board. I don't know how I even ended up at that show. It was during college and I was probably on something. I'd rather stab myself in the eye than ever see him again.
Sadly, second worst experience was Blues Traveler back in '96 or '97 on the Horde tour.
My worst concert was seeing Killing Joke at Bogarts back in the late 90's. Lead singer was stupid drunk and the mix sounded like it was being played from a computer speaker wedged in someone's arsecrack.
Stabbing Westward opened for them, and tore the roof off of Bogarts. They were the main reason we came in the first place. We heard there were supposed to be 3 bands that night, so when the second (so we thought) band came on and was stinking up the place we started really giving them crap from the back of the room. People around us were giving us the stink eye, and then we heard the band play "Millennium" (which was the single from Killing Joke's latest album at the time). We jetted at that point to avoid bumming out any more KJ fans with our immature, drunken heckling.

yeah i saw bob dylan at my school a few years back and it was unbearable i had to leave early and i love dylan too
mm at the roo was not good either it wasnt worst show ever material but by no means di i think it was good at all. to me they are just a better studio band
also i saw squarepusher in chicago in 03 and it was spectacular but a group valled cassette boy was one of the openers and they were so bad i felt it necassary to push up front and scream at them there entire set. it was two guys one with a nixon mask and the other with a bush mask dancing around to a mixtape on a ghetto blaster and humping eachother with inflatable guitar and saxophone

Nice - I think Jonny J did that whole tour. He was good - gotta say i was disappointed at him spinning []< tunes at a []< show, but it could have been worse.
They should just do a Super Jenkinson Bros. tour w/ Jonny J, Ceephax Acid (Andy), and big brother Tom.

Worst ever was in Orlando...My hubby and I went for Beck and The Black Keys opened for them. We had never heard of them but they were fantastic. Next up..Dashboard Confessional? What the fu...He was HORRIBLE!!!!! We were booing him and then all around us they started booing him. Black Keys, then Dashboard Confessional, then Beck! Thank God the cookies were kicking in or I would have gone up there and kicked his ass for ruining such a good show. Beck and Black Keys rocked but they brought the pretty boy in for the Orlando crowd (he's a local, I guess). All the little girls on the floor were screaming for him but we just went and got more cocktails. Thank god for alcohol and cookies or I don't know what I would have done..Whew

I thought Dylan was good in '04...but I was just happy to be there and had really low expectations for his vocals. And Im a fan of his Nashville Skyline material. Oh well.
Worst show Ive seen was probably 12 Stones, a christian rock band at Summerfest one year...other dishonorable mentions go to 3 Days Grace and Bender. Awful rock bands.
