This is my kitty, Savannah. She is 12 years old and really fat and spoiled. We got her from the pound when she was 2 1/2 years old and had been there for 7 months
I was brushing her and I made her a little kitty toupee' ...she was not amused!

OMG, That is so funny...My poor kitty is a little nervous and frightened now..I just got a delivery from Office Depot yesterday of post-it notes and I must have thousands!
Here are mine and samhall's. They're Derek and Hansel, named after the guys in Zoolander. They girls who had them before us named them, but they do act (and sort of look) alot like their namesakes. I think in this picture, Derek is attempting to do "Magnum".

I'm so sorry to hear about your puppy...Was it a beagle, it looks like a beagle..We are going to get a dog when Savannah is no longer w/ us and we have it narrowed down to beagle or boston terrier. They are both such good dogs...
I know we will end up w/ a mutt from the pound, though. I can't buy an animal because there are so many that need homes, it would be too sad

Nice pets! its nice to see some cats and not any of those little show off dogs that girls have been getting to be like paris hilton. Nothing says I am an attention craving princess like a little dog in a sweater and huge sunglasses (on the girl, not the dog).
Our cat Derek, on the left, brings in leaves and garbage that he finds lying around outside. We have found 2' long twigs outside the cat door that he couldn't quite make it in with. Our other cat Hansel brings in live mice, and let me tell you there is nothing like waking up a 3 am to catch a mouse and put it outside.
Here's my girls. They were both found in a Japanese foriegn trade zone so I stuck them with Japanese names. Roku means six, and she's a polydactyl (extra digits on her paws). Fuku means lucky or good fortune. I found her as a kitten in someone's engine compartment while getting something from my car in the parking lot at work.
My Dog Is Cool ~ Printable Flyers Don't Leave Me in Here — It's Hot!"
Distribute Flyers & Posters Download or order API's "Don't Leave Me in Here — It's Hot!" flyers. Keep a stack handy for whenever you're out and about. When temperatures rise and you see a dog in a parked car, slip the flyer under the car's windshield wiper. When the dog's guardian returns to the car, he or she will find the educational flyer and will think twice about leaving his or her companion in a hot car again. This flyer saves lives! You can also download the order form to use for tabling events and to spread the word to others on how to order and distribute these lifesaving flyers.
Ask your local shops, supermarkets, restaurants, libraries, and other public places to help educate people about the dangers of leaving a dog in a car in the summertime by distributing "Don't Leave Me in Here — It's Hot!" flyers to their patrons. You can also print API's "Hot Temperature" warning sign for your local businesses to display.
Here is my cat Emma, who is a complete diva and I totally adore...
I love how she sleeps in my bed with just her head out like a person. ;D She did this, not me!
I work at an animal shelter (well volunteer, but I'm there all the time) so it's really hard not to bring more animals home, but until I get my own place it's really not possible. If anyone's thinking about getting a pet, please go to a shelter first, and consider an animal that's not a puppy/kitten, there are some absolutely wonderful, loving ones who need a home. Pet stores and the evil puppy mills that stock them will only stay in business if people keep going there
If there is a specific breed you really want try www.petfinder.org - great website! lots of breed-specific rescue groups.
I'll get off my soapbox now these are my former roomate's dogs who always slept in my bed and I totally miss! They were adorably cute, even though I am more of a big dog person...

Ok........here's some pics of my gang ;D
My youngest son Mont and our Lab, Earl, who has calmly let Mont dress him up, ride him like a bull, play spy kids and hide and seek with him and use him for a pillow ever since Mont was born. Couldn't ask for a better dog!
Earl smiling like the happy dog he always is.
Earl letting Miss Bell think she's our favorite (he knows better!).
Earl teaching my hubby, Russ, how to swim. LOL.
Miss Bell smelling the flowers and looking dainty like girls do.
Bubba (aka. Mister Bell) not too happy after I washed off all the dirt he worked so hard to get on.
And the REAL ruler of the family: Albert - affectionately known as Alby Kitty.
And yes.....they're all spoiled rotten just the way they should be!
shazball: I used to have flyers that said "Don't leave your dog hot under the collar." Once, when I didn't have any on me, I saw a dog's owner come out of a store to his little dog that was locked in the car. I got the feeling he had only been in there a couple minutes, but I had to talk to him anyway. When I told him he shouldn't leave his dog in the hot car he told me it wasn't my business and he cussed me out. Some people are just mean. The flyers are a great way to get the word out. And you're a lot less likely to get yelled at that way!
taraanne81: We have a no-kill shelter right down the street. They rescue a lot of their animals from local high-kill shelters. People should definitely go to them first! And you're right about getting older animals. They can be the BEST ones!
here's a shot of me about 2 years ago at my aunt 'n uncle's house, this is their cat Bradlee <a href="http://photobucket.com" target="_blank"><img src="http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i217/ginaglo/BradleeGina2.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting"></a>
