Anybody heard of Man Man? The guys kind of have a Tom Waits Islands Years vibe to them. I've also heard they kill live. They are the kind of group I'd like to see Bonnaroo maybe incorporate in some small way in future fests. They'd probably have fitted the Cirkus tenet atmosphere perfectly. Anybody? Anybody?
I've enjoyed Six Demon Bag quite a bit as of late.
You're certainly on point with the Waits comparison, but it's definitely towards the more "difficult" end of the spectrum of Waits material. Not to say it can't be tuneful, because it can, but some of the sh*t can get kind of bonkers, in the best way possible. I know Pitchfork and others have raved about their live show, so I'm hoping to catch them the Saturday before Roo if I can pull it together.

Man Man is awesome but not for the roo, they play an awesome live show. If they come through your town go see them! They will also be at Pitchfork this summer.
