We really don't have any major plans for the four day weekend and I kind of like it!
Tomorrow night we're going out for drinks with another couple and Saturday we might scoot up to Estes Park, visit a friend that's in from out of town to hike up there, camp for the night, and spend the day exploring. Other than that, it's wiiiidddeeeeee open!
It's nice to have that extra time and freedom to do what you want. I like having plans with my friends but sometimes the best experiences come from spontaniety.
That's great! The empty nest syndrome will take effect for a little while and then you're right, the party will begin! You two are still so young, your children must be happy to have such cool parents!
Wel MY kids can't see it of course.
My daughter says her friends are always telling her they wished thier parents were as cool as hers. ;D ;D
I still get out in front of the house and ride skateboards with my son from time to time. I grew up with a board under my feet and, like riding a bike, you never forget. I just don't jump as high or go as fast as I used to!
I can't imagine my dad on a skateboard! Besides the fact that he's too big for one, it just paints a funny picture. I think I've seen him on a bike only once or twice. I've promised myself to be more active with my children, my parents weren't exactly the "outdoor" type. I've been doing a lot of things outside with my boyfriend and I've developed this appreciation for the outdoors, there's so much to see and do!
When your kids get older they'll appreciate how cool you are. Hopefully they'll be able to take their experiences growing up with you two and pass that along to their children. There are too many absent parents these days who have children growing up with no direction.
True, my dad was the same way, No Way he could have road a board and looked way funny on a bike. He was and still is about 210 lbs, I weigh in at a measley 165! So even if I do bail, I won't hit the ground too hard!
We have devoted the last 13 years of our lives to our kids!! They are our everything, I am sure what you said about empty nest syndrome will set in because as of now, that is all we know. Live for the kids!!!!!
suuuure guys go ahead, rub it in. But for real, enjoy your time off! I'm lucky that I don't despise my job and my coworkers have become my friends so it's not torture being here. Of course I'd rather be sleeping late and staying out late, but since a majority of my friends work full time jobs too, I wouldn't have anything to do at night/during the day anyway.

I just want to be able to wear my shorts and berks! Of course in a week i'm goign to turkey for three weeks, so no shorts and berks there! I have the worlds busiest summer planned, and even without working i still have no time for R&R. But it will definately be nice to not do the same boring crap every day!

I'm going to Turkey for a school study-abroad type program thing. Its awesome. There's no class or anything, just going around seeing things. And I get two classes worth of credits (which I would have had to do during july and august) over in three weeks. And it costs the same as the summer semester tuition. So I get a month and a half off, adn get to go to Turkey! Two days after Turkey I go to the NuGroove festival. Then the next day back to philly for a week. Then i start work again, then I got Camp Bisco and moe.Down one right after the other. This weekend I'm going skydiving in Maine, then to Saratoga to see GRAB/Phil and to spend the 4th at my roomates house there. I just wish I could make it to All Good!
Turkey sounds like it'll be an amazing experience! And you get credit for it- great deal! Then three more festivals and a concert- sounds like you have quite a summer lined up, I'm jealous. I can't believe you're going skydiving, that's something I've always wanted to do. Take lots of pictures!
Work is killing me today! haha well not really. I'm leaving at lunch for All Good so it's going by soooo slow. I can't think of anything else. Posting here is all I have to do to pass the time.
Work just blows for me right now. I had to do an assesment of my dept. We have to lay at least one maybe two people off. Since were a smaller dept, (7 people) it'll hurt. Even when someone has a day off it can get bad. I'm just hoping our sales lady can land the contract she was working on. Then we can hire. I hate laying people off. It just hurts.
