is anyone but me wondering why the hell michigan is #2???? i guess i will have to wait until nov 18 for michigan to be #1 that is if the bucks can manage to win the rest of their games
^^^Michigan's #2 because Ohio St. beat the crap out of Texas in Austin the second game of the season. Michigan beat Notre Dame. Big friggin whoop. Nearly everyone else Notre Dame has played this season has almost beaten them and USC WILL later in the year. Which is why until they beat Ohio St., Michigan is #2 in my book.
In the NFL, I unenthusiastically go with Indianapolis even though I think the Chargers, Patriots or Broncos could beat them any given week. The Bears are a mirage and the Eagles or the Panthers are going to represent the NFC (unless Seattle can get it together fast).
Why in the world would anyone be ranked above the preseason number1 when they have not lost? I will be in Columbus to witness the annual slaughter of the Wolverine. Can't wait!

By no means am I making a case that Michigan should be #1 since, as was pointed out, OSU was preseason #1 and have had some very impressive victories....but....Michigan went in and beat the #2 team on their field just like OSU did. And you're way off with your claims about Notre Dame. They've won their 5 other games by an average score of 32-19. The only close games they've had were a win at (in Atlanta) #13 Georgia Tech, and at MSU to start their annual mid-season collapse.
exactly right on the irish. i bet they woud spank texas easily. texas was overrated early in the season because of previous seasons and talents that had left for the nfl. the only reason texas hasent slipped further is the fact that they have one of the easiest schedules in the nation. i think michigan should be number one based on schedule strength. although bowling green makes for a tough game for the bucks year after year. they should be punished for taking on 4th rate teams in the middle of the season. play a real team like ball state
and im not trying to rub anyone the wrong way but did ya see the lions??? its the start of a comeback. the state of michigan could end up with the pro and college football champs. not to mention the tigers, redwings, and pistons.

Well, at least according to the BCS, the best two teams in College are OSU and Michigan.
Both teams will be at least 3 touchdown favorites in each of their three games leading up to the annual regular season finale, so barring a huge upset, the winner will go to the BCS championship game, and the loser to the Rose Bowl. Unless of course there aren't any other undefeated teams at the end of the season and the loser sticks at the #2 spot. I'm sure that would ignite bitching and moaning across the country, but I think it would be hard to argue that any other 1 loss team is better than either of them.
"Well, at least according to the BCS, the best two teams in College are OSU (1) and Michigan(2)."
As it should be.............Could november 18th be any bigger? As big as that game is going to be, ESPN will still break into the game to announce Brady Quin just cut a "heisman worthy" fart.

Way off? You see them almost lose again to a pretty mediocre UCLA at home? My guess is the Irish lose one more to USC, BUT I wouldn't be surprised if they lose to Air Force before that, a team that has traditionally given the Irish some problems regardless of their record or national ranking.

Yes, you were way off in saying on 10/18 that they nearly lost to almost every team they played, but don't get me wrong, I hate Notre Dame as much as anybody on here. I was almost looking forward to the UM-ND game as much as the OSU game this year. I just love it how the media jumped right on board saying "ND is back!" when all they did was have a 9-3 season ("but they almost beat USC!!") and they haven't won a bowl game since 94.
That said, I'll give you 3 to 1 odds on the Air Force game and bet you any amount of money you'd like!
that is nucking futs. the irish will crush airforce. your living in a dream world man. theres about as much chance of that as there is of michigan losing to ball state.

Actually, if you know anything about the history of the two teams, you'd know you're the only one living in a dream world. Air Force has traditionally played Notre Dame very close which is why they aren't scheduled as normally as the other service academies seem to be. I don't think Navy is necessarily a walk in the park for them either. Notre Dame tends to struggle against teams that run the wishbone.
I'm not saying the possibility of blowout doesn't exist. But honestly, given how bad the Irish defense is and how well these two teams execute the wishbone, I just don't see either game being a run away victory for Notre Dame.
ya i was born within 20 minutes of south bend so i know a little bit about it. its always a game that nobodys get up for when they play their biggest game of the year. but given airforces performance agains san diego state and byu in their last 2 games it dosent inspire much fear about n.d. losing to them. and by the way n.d leads the series 19 - 5. seems a little lopsided to me. and they havent played in 10 years so i dont know how any of that would apply any how. although airforce did win in ot that game. but if anyones wanting to throw money away ill gladly take notre dame.

.....not the Eagles. I've about had it with Andy Reid and his, "well we'll get em next time" demeanor. Seriously, if they continue on this path I think it's time for him to go. On the positive side of things....MY RAIDERS BEAT THE STEELERS!!!! At least there was one bright spot from yesterday's games. Now continue with your college football talk....
im in the boat that unless its a massive blowout osu and u of m should play again for the championship. if usc would have went undefeated then id say they shoulda played.
#2. beating #1 should reslut in #1 becoming #2 and if #1 beats #2 and the only other undefeated teams only play one other top team, that also has a super weak schedule, then they should remain #2. certainly since the next highest ranked 1 loss team lost to the #1 bucks also.
i dont think anyone thinks texas is better then michigan even if they are to lose to the bucks. and on top of that michigans schedule was much stronger then texas. texas almost lost to nebraska. texas has a tougher schedule then louisville or wvu but they are nowhere near osu and u of m.
just based on strength of schedule alone neither wvu or louisville deserve to play in the national championship game. and all of the other 1 loss teams are no where near michigan or osu. especially since it was osu that spanked texas.
well after watching that game last night i think it would be the most lopsided title game ever if ohio state or michigan plays louisville. they just arent in the same class at all. i think its crazy that these teams play no one all year and yet they can threaten to scew up a great championship game. oh well i think everyone realizes the championship game is on nov. 18th this year.
College football is boring, illogical and dumb. Unless you are from Ohio or Michigan, in which case have fun. But if you are a normal human from a real state, the NFL is all that really matters. The Bears will eat your team and I'm going to see them eat Miami in person tommorow and I'm drunk now. And the Bears will eat your team. Good night.
Michigan/Ohio state is gonna be the game to watch. Go Blue! I like the NFL more but I'm a Lions fan lol. I am a season ticket holder and have been selling my tickets this year to most of the games. Would be watching Michael Vick kick our butts today but Ill chill at home and watch the stomping on the couch. Even sold my thanksgiving tickets after going for 15 years str8. But I will be there on Christmass Eve to watch da Bears. Lived in Chicago for one year and watching them play the Lions twice a year since I was a kid. The NFC NORTH needs a super bowl this year Go Bears!
The Bears will eat your team and I'm going to see them eat Miami in person tommorow
What was that about your Bears eating the Dolphins Don't feel bad, nobody's perfect.....except the Colts. It was a good week this week, the Cowboys lost, and I didn't have to watch the Eagles loose.
Ouch. I screwed up my fantasy team this week too. I knew Grossman would have days like this, but two in three games? At home? Scary. The only thing making me feel better right now is how bad the NFC sucks. We will learn a lot about the Bears the next three weeks (at Giants, Jets and Pats), but they are really going to have to screw up to not end up with home field in the playoffs.

i dunno, louisville might be able to take ball state... at least our close call was to a big 10 team.
I wouldn't be too proud of that. You do know how horrible Illinois is, right? 96th in the nation in Sagarin ranking. Ball St. is 104.
Yeah, Michigan's 2nd string defense didn't look very good against Ball St. in the second half, but they looked a hell of a lot better than OSU's starting offense that got, what, 36 yards in the second half?
They both played like absolute crap. Leave it to the Buckeye fan to still try to talk smack.
