^^^ so u think if we stop using oil the middle east will be better off and like us more? If we stop using oil then dictators in power will say the U.S. is to blame b/c they don't buy oil from us this is why u are poor and hungry..it's america's fault.

The poorer people are and the less chance to prosper they have makes them more likely to fight and believe what dictators tell them. This is how the nazis took power after wwI germany was broke and the people poor and hungry then the gov't brainwashed them and we all know the rest.
to say the u.s. keeps people in power in the middle east just to make oil profits is wrong
spouting incorrect information and having blind hate toward the country in which they live b/c they don't have the inteligence to truly understand is very scary. I just wish more people would try to see the "big" picture before they come to such simple minded solutions to very very very complex problems such as global warming.....

If you were my kid's teacher, I would at least want you to point out the inconsistancies in Gore's movie. While many of Gore's comments are true, some of his claims are simply not true or are the opinion of a minority of scientists.
Let's not forget that in the 70's scientists said we were on the verge of a mini-ice age and people were freaking out about that. It never happened!

^^^ I aggree. If u took Gore's movie to heart we should be all using boats right now to get around b/c the ice caps have already melted.
Surely we need to watch what we put in the rivers and air. Gore's movie does a great job of creating discussion regarding the topic. Even gore would tell u many of the statements made in the movie are based on some sceintists theories. To teach the movie as gospel would be a mistake. Two years ago it was watch out for the increase in shark attacks. Last year it was your kids are gonna get kidnapped. This year the planet will melt b/c americans drive SUV's.....can't wait to see what next year will bring.....flying spaghetti monster!!! so scary i'm afraid
