I have one ;D
1. it hurts less than a cartidge piercing WAY LESS 2.id say with jewelry around 45$ 3.a week or 2 4.no, the stud back is not a normal "earring" back rather it is kinda a twirly circle thing and it just lays flat against the inside of ur nostril. u are fine to blow ur nose (i blow mine alot and dont even notice it)

Aww thanks!
I guess the trick now is to find a place around here that would do that...I may have to drive an hour or so. I've been wanting one for a while....I feel that now is the time!
I want one in time for Roo and give it a chance to heal properly so it won't have a chance to get infected as easily...do you think if I were to get it in the next two weeks that I would have enough time to do this?

I'm going to get my nose pierced tomorrow. I don't mind the pain so much because I've been wanting this for many, many years. I'll take some pain to get the desired effect I want!
Now, if I'm in pain for days, that's a different story.
I wonder if it's different than getting a shot or drawing blood...I do that regularly and am used to the pinch of the needle, so I'm wondering if it will be similar to that......
good luck! i haven't had a traditional nose piercing, but i've had my septum done and it hurt like fuckin nuts! i've been pierced a lot tho, some in odd places, and i don't think that having your nose done traditionally would hurt any more than having your ear cartilage done...

That's cool. I can withstand the pain if it only lasts for a few seconds...I'm hoping that's all it will last. I think I can handle the pain and soreness afterwards....I hope.

there is hardly any bleeding Your gonna be awesome!!!
hmm, i have my septum pierced - that didnt hurt much. i woud imagine that a normal nosering wouldnt hurt either... probably as much as getting your ear peirced...although, i only have my tragus pierced, not ear-lobes.
^your septum didn't hurt? my hurt like hell, the worst piercing yet....worse than my nipples and i thought i was dying when i got those done. the septum felt like someone punched me in the nose....

No, not really...and it was my first piercing, so I had nothing to compare it to. In fact, when it was over, I was really high on endorphins that I guess my brain expected to need, but didn't. I think the clamping of my nose hurt worse than the needle...
My tragus on the other hand, well, that sucked. And my ear went deaf for like, 5 seconds. That was scary
But those are my only piercings... I've always toyed with the idea of piercing my frenum, but haven't.

I used to have my tongue pierced but, I took the stud out a couple of years ago. It didn't hurt at all! I expected it too but, it was just a little bit of pressure and that was it. I almost passed-out from the endorphine rush but, that wasn't all that bad. My nose, on the other hand, hurt like a motherf*cker! It never healed right and I had to remove the ring about a month later. That also hurt quite badly.
I've had several friends who had pierced nostrils and septums, and none of them had the same kind of problem as I did. There are alot of factors that can effect the outcome, including the fact that you can do everything exactly correct and still end-up with an infection. Not trying to scare anyone. Just passing on my experience.

my traditional tongue didn't hurt at all, i couldn't stop laughing tho, after i slobbered all over place....i have one underneath my tongue, the little web that connects your tongue to the bottom of your mouth, i didn't even feel it, the clamps hurt like a mother f**k*r tho. the nipples hurt really bad. i had my belly button done about ten years ago, but took it out when i got prego, i had a bar in my chest, like a madison but lower, didn't hurt a bit, and then my septum hurt worse than the nipples, i ended up having to take it out after two months because it wasn't healing at all, and was still pretty painful. I agree with oat, tho, even if you do everything right an infection can happen. Piercings are easy to get infected, and infections hurt. And remember that surface piercings can take a long time to heal. Piercings are awesome tho, i love them, its my favorite thing to do, if i'm feeling down, i'll go get something pierced and it makes me feel better....

Okay...so I did it. It didn't hurt as much as I thought...the worst part for me was the pressure of the needle going through the nostril. That was sickening...a little.
I love this little thing already! It doesn't hurt very much right now and I've been cleaning it like they said.
Can't wait until I can change it for another stud! ;D

we better get pics - hey now - you asked for advice about whether it would hurt - I think those that offered uo their own experiences shuold get to see it. LOL
I pierced my own nose with an earring once last fall... It hurt, but not too much.
you just made me remember! my first piercing was actually my ear. I pierced it myself with a piercing stud - but i kind of fucked it up and it was too close to my big noggin. i took it out after about 20 minutes since it looked dumb...
