I'm enjoying being a slacker right now. But that seems like a good thing to do this afternoon. I'll need to make a trip to the Depot. The PVC is kinda a pain to cut by hand, but I don't know if I want to drop the coin for a new power tool which would make the project 10 times easier.
The last pole was 12'. I think I may shoot for 16' this time. I'm thinking about a new base for it. The ground was really hard last year and I don't imagine it being any better this year. It was a project driving it into the ground. But once it was in, it was really sturdy.
PVC will cut easily with a hacksaw. They costs less than $10.
I always cut two lengths and glue them together at Roo. That way I have a 15ft+ pole and am the tallest around and easy to find. When Roo is over I break out the hacksaw and cut it back down to fit. Takes about a minute.

What kind of glue do you use? Like an epoxy?
I added a pic. The Oatey Green is my fave. Use medium or heavy duty PVC cement. It costs about $4.
