This whole cross country move really has my Roo prep on the back burner. I still have to finish my flag pole, shop for fan batteries/clothing/accessories/etc. and make sure everything fits in my vehicle or figure out which other vehicle we are taking. I know if I put off the relocation planning my brain will be mush after four days on the farm, but I really don't want to have to make a mad dash for last minute stuff before the single best weekend of my year. Priorities suck.

My adult portions of my life are schizophrenic!!!!!!!................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................maybe I'm schizo?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
Today I found out that the woman that I was involved in a MINOR fender bender with (admittedly my fault) last Summer is getting $14,000 for some made up injuries from my insurance company. Even though it's not coming out of my pocket, it makes me angry that she acts like such trash in front of her children to get money. Her son was in the car when it happened and he got out of the car and told me that they were all fine and that we shouldn't get the police involved. I was like, "Ummm, there isn't damage to my vehicle, but your's sustained some damage, so we should file a report". His mom gets out of the car, which was filled with trash, and said that she didn't want to call the police because she hates police. A cop came and filed a report. A few months later I found out that she has hired a lawyer and has claimed a ton of injuries. Ridiculous. Her son was such a nice kid. I hope he chooses to follow a different path in life.
One of my dogs is really starting to show old age. He has Addison's now and shakes uncontrollably at any change in his normal routine. A few weeks ago he started pissing the floor. Just straight up getting off the couch and pissing while he stares at you. You go to get coffee in the morning, you step through dog pee. I'm pulling my hair out, I really don't know what to do. He's sick, I know. I can't be mad at him, just the situation.
I've honestly thought about getting doggie diapers.

Doggie diapers are one option. One of my parent's dogs is getting up there in age and has diabetes now so she's been going blind and pees all over the place. We've adapted to using gates to keep her out of certain rooms and have to really pay attention to her when she's wandering around on her own. It's sad but not much else we can really do.
Watching where you step because of dog pee is something everyone has had to adapt to.

Well my MacBook died and there is no Apple repair center in Thailand. Had about 10 grand worth of website design work that is now gone. A huge design project due Monday. And all my graded exams for my students next week. Can't afford a new computer and it'll take too long to send it home and have it fixed. I have absolutely no idea what I'm going to do. This is very, very bad.

Fucking fuck.
Fuck man, that really sucks. There might not be an official Apple repair place in Thailand, but is there any sort of computer repair? Maybe they can do something for you. If nothing else, maybe pull the info off your hard drive? Really wish I had some better advice for you. Good luck.

As long as the hard drive isn't the reason your macbook died, the data is still (mostly) there. If you go to a general computer rapair shop, they should be able to power up your hard drive using a different computer and pull all your data off.

Have you stored anything in the cloud? Like he said, someone should be able to retrieve your data and put it on a backup drive. Maybe pick up some knock off Microsoft POS on the cheap in Thailand. Then send your Mac home for repairs.

Negative examples still allow for learning opportunities; let's share the hope that young man seizes this one - among which, it sounds like he has multitudes.

Thanks for all the tips. I wanted to stick with Apple certified because it's still under warranty. The logic board is out but the HD should still be okay, I just can't access the info. It was last backed up two days ago, but sadly the most important files are even more recent than that. I guess we'll see. On a good note my boss back home offered to advance me the money for any repairs, assuming I can find someone who can do it.

We had to do that with our dog, who we recently put had to put down. I recommend them. You still have to wash the dog, but it's better than having piss everywhere.
I understand the stress, though. It was incredibly frustrating to come home from work and I'd just want to sit down, but I had to clean up piss and shit and wash the dog. Hang in there.

You're not alone but I trust that you'll have everything you need and more when the time comes! 17 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm having the make myself be motivated now, which is good....I should do that more often. I doubt I'll pack until the day before though. That's becoming my thing.
So I too am feelin' underprepared and not ready fer 'Roo yet! Life's been a whirlwind recently with a weddin', four friends passin' within' a week, leavin' one job and hopefully havin' another come Sunday, another weddin', and short beach trip with my girlfriend's family just beforehand! And I'm broke!
It'll all be worth it though...just gotta keep my head on fer a little longer!

So I have spent 3 quacking hours at the DMV today because dumbasshat me forgot my license was expired so I had to get that taken care of before 'Roo....and they took my actual hard copy...but my issue is they gave me a paper copy and now I am all like uhhhhh is this acceptable at Roo to prove I'm WAY over 21 so I can get a wristband?! I'm sad about it if I can't get my wristband because I really want to spend some time in the Brooers tent

They just clip off one of the top corners and give it back where I am from. Took 10 days to get mine in mail. Digital stuff has made the process easier here.
Solution:
Step 1 - find good or new friend with id.
Step 2 - They get 21+ wristband.
Step 3 - Gives it to you.
Step 4 - Repeat step two.
Step 5 - Buy you and your good or new friend a beer.

well the paper copy is an exact copy, front and back of my license...it's accepted by law enforcement if you get pulled over...

I just got home, and had a neighbor fly out of his house to yell at me for moving his trashcan from one side of his driveway to the other side, 6 feet away, so that I could park my car.
Is it just me or are people losing their minds more and more everyday?

Talking to a friend earlier about the murder of six people at/around UCSB and the entitlement/misogyny around it, when I gave examples of instances in my own life where I have felt scared he brushed them off saying I shouldn't have felt that way. About a month ago when I was leaving the club we were both at, to go out to my car, he insisted that he walk me to my car because "He didn't want me hurt." So... are you walking me to my car because you are worried that someone, probably a man, would hurt me? Which would prove my point. OR are you making up a situation where you are proving yourself to be a "good guy" and at the same time making me fearful of other men? Which would prove my point.
