Grrr to my coworker who likes to dump large amounts of Drakkar Noir onto himself while at his desk, 2 cubes away from me, even though I've asked him many times to PLEASE put it on in the bathroom, because I am allergic to it and it makes me really ill when there is a lot of it in the air... now I am dizzy, my throat burns, I have a headache, and it is hard to breathe

Grrr to new bosses. The new guy fired the old girl and changed all of the alarm codes. I am the first person to work everyday (upstairs) and he didn't give me a new code, nor did he tell me that the codes were changing. So I set the alarm off and had to listen to it for 15 minutes before I could get ahold of new boss. I was just lucky that the cops didn't show up.
Today I come in and usually there are people downstairs who have their alarm dearmed. Well, I got there before everyone and had to wait 40 minutes until I could get in. It was nice to be able to sit down and read a book while getting paid, but I had a lot of work that I wanted to get done before my first patient arrived.
I finally get my first patient on the table and get half of his scan done (I'm an x-ray/cat scan tech) and I'm getting ready to inject some xray dye. We always have to have a doctor in the building before we can inject since some people can go into anaphylactic shock from the dye. I call around and the soonest a doctor will arrive is 30 minutes later. So my patient had to wait 30 minutes when it should have taken 5. I try my best to provide outstanding patient care, but most things are out of my control. B A S T A R D S !!!!!!

^ Sorry about the works issues. Crunchies for the radiology position! My husband does xray and nuc med. He is studying to take the CT test.
Hope things get better at the workplace!
oooo, then he can make the big bucks doing pet/ct. The CT exam was a piece of cake. I scored much higher on my CT boards than my xray boards. But, I actually studied for the CT exam. Work has been a constant struggle for the last 5 years because I work for a group of Urologists and the staff knows nothing of radiology at all. But they pay me a lot more than any hospital I've worked for and it's basically a cake job. So I guess maybe part of this should go in the Yay thread?

^Nice gig at a specialty practice!!!! He has the same problem with the doctors at the hospital, sadly even most of the radiologists, not knowing anything about the images or how to read them. Keep that head up and keep on keeping on... you have a good gig!
grrr I have no clothes for Bonnaroo! Everything I own is jeans and long sleeve or knit. I didn't wanna have to spend anymore money but hopefully Salvation Army will be the answer!
I'm gonna get preachy on you...you need to rest. That means sleeping, not Inforooing or anything else (which is hard when you have three children, I know, but that's all the more reason to really rest when you can). Rest and antibiotics are the quickest ways to heal infection. Now get outta here and get better!

I love you too - but I am at work - I don't think they would look kindly on me sleeping at my desk.

Meg, rest!! Do you have any sick leave you can take? At least you are sitting and not having to walk aorund @ wk, right? Those antibiotics will wipe the infection right out and make you Bonnaready!

Ah, yeah...no. Oops! Okay, rest when you can and feel better soon!

ok my mother hens - LOL yes I am resting - I am not doing anything around the house - the teenager is doing it all and Boz cooked dinner last night - I am going to bed early every night and taking it easy. At work - I am sitting with my foot elevated and not walking around. the legal assistant is doing all of my fetching and copying for me. Basically - all I have to do is drive back and forth to work and be a warm fairly functioning body in my office chair
I worked at a maximum security prison once that went on lock down because of a riot. I could'nt run my therapy groups but I had to come into work. Some days I would come in lock my office door and sleep until lunch...That last for about 3 months..Then when we went back up I was so lazy and had a hard time getting back in to a work routine...That's why I always liked a good prison riot.
LOL. In the 80s, I once went in to work so hungover that I closed my door around 9:30 a.m. and didn't wake up until a co-worker came in around 3:00 pm and found me in a massive puddle of drool.
I am going to throw books @ people! Large thick volumes of Shakespeare. People have no respect for libraries anymore! STFU people, turn off your cell phones! Seriously, this is not a night club or place to have sex in the bathrooms. Take your prostitutes to the Motel 6 for Christ sake!

GRRRR @ American Idol!!!!!!!!
Apparantly there was some dude on there from Arkansas (I think he even went to the same high school I did), and apparantly he just won tonight. NOBODY will stop talking about this, and it's been on the news every day for fuck knows how long. I've even heard educated men with college degrees discussing this at work. Now since he won, this bullshit is going to continue ad infinitum. I'm friggin' stuck here for another 3 weeks!

Come on Bonnaroo, I need an escape.
Well I mean... it is a pretty big deal to win American Idol... whether you like the show or not. I personally hate it, but if someone from my high school won I'd be a bit giddy for them, too... and I have a college degree as well (albeit... no job yet. I guess that classifies me as still eligible to discuss American Idol?? )
Either way, sorry you're miserable hearing about others' success. Here's to anxiously awaiting the Roo!

^^^I'm not trying to hate on him for winning American Idol. Good for him. Other people's success in no way makes me miserable. It's awesome for him, but I don't know the dude, so it really doesn't matter to me if he won or someone else did. It would be awesome for someone somewhere.
It just bothers me that this show will not go away. It has lately been dominating at least 40% of the local TV news hour, even when the show didn't air that day. Anywhere I go someone either wants to tell me their opinion about it, or recap the entire season for me when I tell them I haven't watched it. When I tell them I don't care, I get the spiel about how I have to watch it since the guy is from Arkansas and he went to Mills, etc. It also really bothers me that so many people consider this show to be such a big deal in entertainment, that it quite literally was the most exciting thing that's happened to them this month. And you can discuss anything you want no matter how educated you are, but you gotta admit that the 30+ college educated professional male isn't American Idol's target demographic. That sentance admittedly didn't come across the way I intended it to, but my work is honestly one of the last places I would expect to hear mindless shows like this talked about.
I can usually do a good job ignoring this show, just like any other TV show I don't like, but when it becomes so engrained in everything around me it really gets on my nerves. If our guy would have lost, I'd have heard a couple of days about how he got "robbed" or something and that would be the end of it. Now it's going to be pandemonium around here for weeks.

^^I suppose I misinterpreted your rant then for the most part then... so I'm sorry for that I can see what you mean with the media can have a field day with popular shows, especially if it hits local. I've seen a hell of a lot of Idol advertising lately and there was never anyone from my area even on the show, so I can see how maybe it'd get really annoying if it was an every day affair for a while.
Maybe it's similar to the Michael Vick dilemma a ways back and now too that he's getting released... except he was going to jail for dogfighting to it was easier for me to say "f*ck you, Vick, for drawing so much g*ddamn attention!" since he had clearly done wrong. But either way, every channel -local or not - was reporting on the situation for a couple months straight.
So yeah, I'ma go stake out that Drunken Ramblings thread where I belong now... cheers! ;D
