F*cking pieces of shit just mugged me at gunpoint while I was walking home from the neighborhood bar!! Luckily, I'm not harmed, and all I gave them was my cigarettes...however, I could really use a smoke, and they have them all
One of my oldest and dearest (OK, my all time BFF) has been in a downward spiral for 4 years now. I have finally come to realize that I, nor anyone else but herself, can't save her, and that any continued efforts to do so are toxic. While that approach may sound heartless, know that its one of the most (maybe THE most) heartbreaking realizations I have ever had. You can't help anyone who does not want to be helped. Does that mean that I don't love her? absolutely not.
so, be their friend, and love them....but temper that with a dose of reality.

Thanks ladies. It's been a rough week. Two of my oldest and best friends are having a real hard time with life right now. And my mom is going through a lot of medical stuff, so my family is having to take turns staying with her. This is my weekend so I'm just a bit stressed.
This isn't a 'grrr' so much, and definitely nowhere near the same level as other people's problems, but my phone got water on it on Saturday night and now it doesn't even turn on. Thankfully I signed up for the insurance plan when I bought it, so I figure it shouldn't be a big deal to replace it. It's a big inconvenience for right now, but it's partially my own fault. I went to the AT&T store yesterday to see if they could do anything, and they told me they don't do phone replacements in store, and that I'd have to call a 1-800 number. Let me go over that once more in case you missed it: my phone doesn't work, and the only way I can put in an order to get a new one is by calling their number... using my phone that doesn't work. *forehead smack* Fantastic logic there, AT&T.

Been there. Luckily I've always had someone nearby and have been able to use their phones to call, but it's still a pain. I was extra upset the first time because I didn't know that there was a $50 deductible to get it replaced. Also, I used the insurance so many times (3 total (first, quit working; second, dropped somewhere in Annapolis; third, washed in the washing machine), but I think it was because the last 2 were so close together) that they cancelled my insurance plan.
On the upside, they've always been pretty quick about getting my replacement to me, and two of the times, they actually upgraded my phone because the model I was replacing was no longer available.

Yep! I have to pay the same $50 deductible. It's better than forking out for a new phone, though. This is why I always get the insurance/extended warranty on anything expensive. Surprisingly, this is the first time I've ever broken a cell phone in nearly 10 years of using them; the only other time I had to get one replaced was in 2002, and that one was stolen, not broken.
Mine went in a really stupid way when I was getting ready to go out on Saturday night. I got in the shower, but I was running late so I decided to keep my phone nearby in case my friend rang. Well, because I live in a dorm and share a bathroom with a lot of strangers, I didn't want to have it out of sight, so I put it on the ledge of the shower, just poking under the curtain a bit so I could make sure it was still there. When I got out, my screen was just a blank white, and then the phone turned off completely a few minutes after I noticed that.
Cap'n Jack, that new avatar picture defines epic and poetic at the same time.
a GRRR for me? Im pretty sure a have a spider bite on my ass, its festering and painful, I have to sit on it all day, and elastic leg band of my underwear rubs on it when I walk.

When we moved out here, we made friends with this couple - a girl I work with and her husband. In July, the husband lost his job. Now they are getting a divorce, and it is making me really, really dislike the girl, but I have to work with her every day and act like I don't know things that I know. It's getting very frustrating.
Of course, my grrr is nothing in comparison to what my friends are going through, but it's still frustrating.

I am really quacking pissed! My loser, little cousin who I hardly ever talk to sent me a message on Facebook saying her boyfriend left her and she didn't have a job and needed some dough to help with rent. She said she didn't want to break her lease because my Aunt's name is on it. I was able to send her $50 and a note telling her she didn't have to worry about paying me back, wich I thought was being super nice. The check cleared the bank without a THANK YOU to be found. I've sent a couple of messages just to make sure it got there, nothing in return. It quacking sucks when you try to be nice and get Leno on.
and then my mom called my on Sunday night to ask me if I got her email - I said what email? and she said nevermind - I'm at the ER with your dad - he was having chest pains so we thought we should come to the ER - they are keeping him overnight.
Got off the phone and checked my email and found out that she had actually sent me an email from her iPhone telling me that she was at the ER with my father - not telling me why and asking if I had the next day off - WTF???? Glad she is embracing technology - now I just have to teach here that there are appropriate times for email/text and times that a phone call is REQUIRED!
Ya'll, I work with some of the most dense people south of the Mason-Dixon line. Our buyer didn't have a sample of a product when our website photographer asked for it. So he went online and googled it and found a picture "like" the product we have and told us to use that for our website image. WTF?
so...youngest daughter just finished her last HS final today, came home, she and my oldest college-aged daughter pretty immediately got into a catfight...and tomorrow I get to accompany both of them to spend the day and night with my husband's dysfunctional family for Christmas joy (yeah right), and oh, here's the best part...he refuses to go because he doesn't get along with them! Bah humbug, FML....
I'm trying my best not to be a total Scrooge, decorating, making cookies, etc. but eveyone else is doing what they can to make me wish Christmas was already over!!!!

I built a new computer and after I swapped all my music to my new HD I can't get it to seed on What since my zune software altered the tags. Now I am stuck to upload only with no way to get out of ratio watch. At least I have a new ip if I can ever drum up a new invite. Grrr to technology.
