I interviewed for a the office manger/bookkeeper position at our towns utility office yesterday. I'm super qualified for the job and have people in the office recommending I be hired. At the interview I caught the name of the person interviewed before me. Happens to be the sister-in-law of one of the people making the hiring decisions and a member of a family here that everyone kisses up to. I have a feeling I'm gonna lose a job I should have to nepotism.
We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.

Grrr to waking up to a boot on the car for a parking ticket that I never knew I had. A 42$ ticket just cost me 300$ and now I'm extremely late for work.
F uck Morrissey for saying what "McDonalds and KFC does everyday" is worse than what happened in Norway. I wonder if he has the nerve to say that to the faces of those who lost loved ones

I discovered that one of my assistant managers has been stealing money from the clinic I manage. I'm devastated. She's worked for me for several years. She is the last one I would've thought would do something like this. It's not one time either... I fear that I've only scratched the surface. The owner of the clinic is out of town for another week. He's instructed me to sit on this and collect evidence for the next week.

I've got to vent this somewhere today...
I remember being excited for the MTV VMAs when I was a kid. Last night was embarassing. Having the tribute to Amy Winehouse performed by Bruno Mars (who is he other than that underware song), and the song that he honored her with was not even her song (Valerie) is pretty disrespectful.
Giving Brittney Spears the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard award, which is fine, but using it as an opportunity to announce the next artist, not fine at all. Plus cramming the performance used to honor her into less than a minute mash up of all of her songs. And Lady Caca trying to steal her spot light, what an attention whore.
The Lil Wayne's closing performance, which was actually just a lot of silence at home because he swore through the entire thing so they had to edit it. Not to mention Lady Gaga dressed up and acting like an annoying greaser all night while slamming cognac with Kanye.
I know many of these artists are not fan favorites here on inforoo, but each one has shaped the music industry in one way or another, and should be respected for that. I remember the days of Foo Fighters performing on a marquee in Time Square, Marilyn Manson and his fake boobie costume, Michael Jackson receiving the first video vanguard, and Guns and Roses "reuniting" for closing the show. That's what really grinds my gears.

The two parking spaces in front of my apartment are reserved for us. Yesterday, we got home from the grocery store to find a guy and a girl in a truck parked in one of our spaces. I got out of my car and politely said, "These two spaces are reserved. The guest spaces are over there." The guy said, "Okay, we'll move over there." But as we were walking to the door, he didn't start his truck, and they didn't move. So, we go in the apartment, and I immediately go to the window and start watching. I couldn't see all that well because they were parked facing away from the apartment, but I could see one and sometimes both of them in the girl's side mirror. They sat there for awhile making somewhat odd movements. The girl sat at one point with her head in her hands, looking sort of distressed. A minute later, the guy was leaned forward, looking as though he was very intent on doing something, then he sort of suddenly leaned back against his seat. They sat there long enough that I had finally decided to call the apartment office (although I was doubtful they'd be there since it was the holiday), but by the time it got to the third ring, the couple pulled away. As they did, something came flying out of the girl's window. When they were gone, I went outside to look, and it was aluminum foil, so I'm pretty sure they were shooting up in my freaking parking space. So not cool.
- Got ran off the road on my bike by some jerkstore pulling out of a parking spot on the side of the road without looking. Had to smash on my breaks, flew over my handlebars, and destroyed my back tire, chain, and gear mechanism. 150 dollars to fix
- Got my car window smashed in in the middle of the night, iPod stolen from said car. This one is really my own fault for leaving my iPod in my car when I live in North Philly.
- Since I live in a city and dont drive my car too often, I didnt discover my smashed window until a few days after it happened. It got rained in and now it smells like mold and also I think a stray cat pissed in it at some point, so I have to shell out to get it detailed.
- Wake up yesterday to find my car and every car on my street gone. Turns out there was road work on my street and all the cars on the street got moved several blocks away by a tow truck without informing any of the owners. No signs saying "road work, no parking" etc. so I'm pretty sure that is not legal, not to mention the fact that putting a car up on a tow truck without putting it into neutral quacks up your brakes.
I guess things can only get better from here?
