Missing a festival is usually worse in the lead-up to it. Because instead of anticipating every addition and bit of news and schedule dropping you're stuck seeing it knowing you won't be going. The weekend of the festival is usually much easier...unless you're streaming shows.

Agreed. It helps that there is only two acts who I was REALLY excited for that I wont get another chance to see anytime soon. All the other bands I want to see tour fairly regularly.
I've been able to see NIN and GYBE already, and have Disclosure tickets in a few months. I'm not worried about missing any shows (except perhaps The Bug). Sure I would have loved to have seen a few sets at Roo and couldn't, and the webcast helped somewhat. It's just not being able to see a bunch of Inforoo people in one convenient location, especially some of you who I haven't seen in a year and a half or more now.
I may not do any festival outside the Northeast for another couple years. That leaves me Newport Folk, Freefest, and perhaps Mountain Jam - which are all fun. I just like to get out to more parts of the world.

My Grrrrr has to do with bullying on message boards. I'm a member of a popular weight loss message board. A few of my (former)favorite posters got mad at the moderator and left. They formed their own message board. I was able to find it on Google and signed up. There were posts on this new message board making fun of members of the other message board and they were saying nasty things. I felt uneasy about it because some of the people they were making fun of were nice people that had helped me out with my weight loss journey. I sent the moderator a PM and told her that it wasn't right to make fun of other people, even if they weren't part of the message board, and asked her if she could maybe send a message out to the other members of the forum asking them to stop making fun of others or maybe lay some ground rules about it. Instead, this moderator sent a PM back saying that she didn't know who I was and that I hadn't made a post since my introduction post a month earlier. She said that she didn't like lurkers and if I didn't make a post, she would ban me. Fine, I made a post about how I was bullied in high school and it makes me uncomfortable seeing them making fun of other people and asked if we could start supporting each other instead. The next time I went to log in, I found that the mod had banned me anyways. I know I shouldn't make a big deal about this and move on but it really bugs me that these members were so nice to everyone on one message board but they were downright rude on another. It definitely makes me appreciate Inforoo that much more.

You obviously haven't spent much time in the speculation threads.
A couple months ago, my mom and I were talking Halloween costumes for my kids. She came up with the idea of doing a 1960s Batman theme with our family of 5 and I thought it was cute. She's a seamstress and said she already had ideas for the costumes. I asked her to let me know what she needed from me. A month ago, she sent me pictures of what she was working on and a list of things that each costume still needed. I found and purchased the items, but when I told her I did that, her response was "Oh, I already got it. I was just letting you know what else they needed. Not that you had to get it." Um. Okay.
Last week she asks what the kids schedule was so she can try on the costumes and do final tweaks. I let her know when she could come over. She chose Sunday - when Chris and I were driving home from MOEMS. We get to the house at 7pm on Sunday, tired after the 5 hour drive, and my parents, Chris' parents, and the kids are all there and hyped up. They had *just* started trying on the costumes. I was annoyed because we'd been on the road a long time and I thought I'd be able to spend time with my kids before their 8pm school night bedtime. Not so much.
My mother decides the costumes need more tweaking, so asks when would be good to bring them back. It was said either Tuesday or Wednesday at the absolute latest - because, you know, Halloween is THURSDAY. Never heard from her yesterday. Just texted her and asked for a timeframe. The response I got was "not yet" ... I ask if that meant I wouldn't have them tonight. She then asks if we can go trick or treating on Friday.
Um. Sure. Let me just call EVERYONE and let them know that even though Halloween is Thursday (you know, October 31st like it is every year), that we're going to be knocking on doors on Friday, November 1st because my mom is crap at time management and communication.
Ugh. I'm so frustrated and worried that my kids won't have the Halloween costumes they've been excited to wear. That's not an option for 3 9-year-olds.

What follows in my post is highly incendiary, extremely racist and generally pretty quacking pathetic. It will also likely be tl;dr (To Long;Didn't Read in case you're new to the internets).
I just saw the following on my FB timeline. I'm putting it in a spoiler tag because it disgusts me, and probably isn't something you'd want cached on your work computer. Fair warning.
"That's wrong, LOL!" Says random casual racist! LOL? F*ucking seriously? That's wrong LOL. Yeah dude you and the quacking idiot who "shared" this are totes NOT RACIST. You goofballs just have an edgy sense of humor! What bums me out about this aside from EVERYTHING is that the fuktard who openly shared this with the rest of his facebook world was someone I used to respect. There's nothing funny about this. The only humor is inferred by the opening line being ironic with the picture and it's subsequent caption. And it will only be funny to someone who is a racist. There is nothing not racist about it.
Go ahead, for an extra helping of f*ucking stupid please check out the comments filled with fuktards justifying why "It's totes not racist and so super funny! And I'm totally NOT RACIST. It's just an over the top edgy joke. Y'all just need to chill bro! LOLOLOL!!1!". It's filled with such well thought out and impossible to disagree with examples like:
"Haha take a joke people comedians joke on white ppl just as much. Put some lube on so you dont get so butt-hurt next time."
"Oh grow a quacking funny bone, its only racist if you let it offend you"
"lol no shiz its racist.....its RIDICULOUSLY racist and that's why its funny because its that over the top" LOL TOTES BRO! (emphasis is mine)
"I think what this meme is attempting to convey is that black babies and white babies are both homo sapiens, who evolved from apes. I think you might be a little racist yourself, if your first thought was to assume that they meant a black baby by depicting an ape. Just sayin." Some SOLID quacking logic right there. Truly enlightened thinking.
AND my favorite, absolutely unarguable totes-not-racist-but-I-laughed defense (this was in response to someone saying that anyone who finds this funny is an inbred redneck): "hey im redneck and i think its funny AND ive had relations with black ladies AND i might do it agin... just cause someone thinks its funny dont make'em racest" I mean...you can't front on that. He thinks it's funny and he's slept with black chicks so you're argument is invalid.
monkybunney someone "share" that sh!t on my FB page, they are unfriended in a heartbeat. And never spoken to again.
I'd like to say I would try to explain to them why it's so reprehensible, but you can't talk to idiot.
Yeah I quietly unfriended this dude. You're exactly correct about calling him out on his bullshit. No good will come of it so I'm not going to waste my keystrokes.
I've had five or less hours of sleep four out of the past six days. Can't be too awful upset abut it, since it was for such awesome reasons. But still, I am tired.
I tried to make cookies last night. I was doubling the recipe as written, but I forgot to double the flour. No cookies for me today.
Ugh, I hate that. When I'm doubling a recipe I obsessively write out the new amounts so I don't do that again.
You all probably know this already, but since I almost always have to double (at least) recipes in our house, I try to use Allrecipes.com. You can insert any amount of servings you want to make and it will adjust the ingredient amounts.

This does work well except for those odd times when you end up with a recipe that asks for 17/32 tsp of baking soda.
