so I set the alarm so I would wake up early enough to go to the game today. I forgot that we had failed to change the time on the clock in our bed room, so I am up an hr earlier than I wanted to be,
Total first world problem here, but quack. Quack quack quackity quackin' quack. Not like I've been waiting to see them since I was 10 years old or anything. Oh wait...

Cold weather is finally here in full force. I can't force myself to get out and run, looks like I'm doomed to spend hours staring at the wall on the treadmill.
Right now, my dog is on her way to the vet to be "put down". I'm not going with because I can't bear the thought of seeing her die. I cannot stop crying. She's so young (8 years old) but she has had a lot of problems over the past couple of months. She refuses to relieve herself outside and usually growls, snaps and bites anyone who tries to get her to go out. She pees and poops all over our carpet. We even put those puppy training mats all over the floor but she doesn't use them. She still eats and drinks but you can tell her teeth are bothering her. She sleeps all day long and doesn't play anymore. She rarely gets off the couch. She has a hard time going up and down stairs. We took her to the vet twice. The first time, they charged us $500 to say that there was nothing wrong with her. The second time, they charged us $250 and told us that her kidneys were having problems and they gave us some medicine. She's been on the medicine for a month now and nothing has changed. This morning, she peed on the bed. I know that putting her down is the right thing to do but it's still so painful. She was my best friend in the whole world and I'm going to miss her so much. This totally sucks.
OH Ally.. Our hearts ache for you. It is so devastating to have to do this. "We" know the pain.
Same advice I've shared before.. Get a jar or large cup, your best friends collar goes around it. $1.00 in for every hysterical cry, 50 cents for a major cry, 25 cents for sobbing .. Reverse above.. 25 cents for the first time you can think of your bestie and not ball, 50 cents for a happy thought, $1.00 for event the littlest smile while remembering. Soon as you can after <-- day take the money in the cup and go rescue a new friend. He/she will love you forever for saving him/her. It will never be the same but it can be as good in a new way.

R.I.P. Jesse - 2005-2013
I'm very sorry to read this, Ally. My condolences to you, losing a pet is always hard. She was a pretty girl.
I'm so sorry to hear about your beautiful pooch, Ally. I've said goodbye to more furry friends than I can count, and it never gets any easier.
If she hasn't been put to sleep yet, I will say that with the last two pets I've lost, I was in the operating room for one and in the waiting room for the other. As tough as those final moments were, I did feel being there at the end helped a lot with the grieving process.
And going back to the conversation re:teeth above, one of my wisdom teeth never came in; about a year ago, my dentist had warned me it was impacted and would need to be extracted eventually. Well, it's been giving me a lot of grief the past few days, and so this week I must bid it farewell. I have a feeling my weekend will be something like this:
Ow. Ow. Double ow. Ow. Son of a bee sting. Ow again. Is it Thursday morning yet?
Small silver lining, thankfully all the horror stories about public healthcare I've heard have always proved to be just that. Great service, no hidden fees, and they booked me in within two days' time. Which is good, because did I mention ow?

OUCH! Been there, done that Sleepy. When they say ice on/ice off... LISTEN to them!
Getting extremely frustrated with other people's inability to communicate effectively, act professionally, or demonstrate any level of competence whatsoever.
Just stay out of the Headliner and College Football threads, dude.
Ally so sorry to hear this. I do know how you feel. I lost my little boy cat this time last year. Give it some time. Your love for Jesse will always be with you. And you will find a new love.

Driving home from class this morning, I was behind a girl doing her make up. She merged into my lane (without a signal) and proceeded to go 10 under the limit while applying her blush. Then we hit a stop light and she sat at it for a good 20 seconds after it changed to green while she dug through her purse. I honked. She flips me off. I then pass her because she's all over the road at varying speeds. And she flips me off again.
Yes, girl that was applying make-up while driving, switching lanes without a signal and not checking your mirrors at all... I'm definitely the person that needs to fuck off.
I wish real-life driving was more like video game driving.
I had been stuck at a red light this morning, and the SUV behind me was in too much of a rush to make a right hand turn. Was honking at me to move over, to give her enough room. I was the third car in line, it wasn't a turn only lane, and there apparently wasn't enough room on the sidewalk for this SUV to drive over. I ended up flipping her off once the light turned green.

She needs to take a class on multi-tasking. I'm a perfectly fine driver while putting in contacts and putting on mascara.

I'm personally able to drive while putting on pantyhose, talk on the phone, and eat an order of Krystal cheese fries all at the same time. You all are a bunch of amateurs.

Teach me of your ways, oh wise one. I can only ever manage the pantyhose.
Another year, another computer-based training course on the ins and outs of sexual harassment. I understand the need for annual updates on the other compliance courses, as those laws and regulations can change considerably in a relatively short period of time. I mean, what innovations in the field of sexual harassment have occurred since I took this course last year? Those of us under 40 have probably has this same education in each year at school, and at each job.
I understand the importance of the issue, and enjoy knowing that I work in an environment where people can feel secure, but grrrrr! I could be napping at my desk today.
I was driving this morning, got off the highway, sat at a red light at the end of the ramp.
This woman in a white SUV coming from my right to left runs the red light. It wasn't like the light was yellow and it just turned red as she sped by. It had to have been red for her at least three seconds, but she was too busy talking on the cell phone to have noticed the light - or stop for it.
When i returned home last Saturday, i found that a copper pipe just passed my water heater had sprung a leak and was spraying up to the ceiling. There wasn't a tremendous amount of water so it had apparently happened shortly before me walking in the door. After draining the the pipes in the house water continued to leak through the hole. I discovered that my main shut off valve didn't work properly, and called the city to have them shut off the water on Monday morning. Worked Monday and Tuesday. Wednesday i changed the valve and tried my first attempt at soldering. Once completed i had the city turn the water back on and found that 2 of the three joints i had soldered poorly, but at least now i had a working valve and could shut the water off and didn't need the city. with the valve shut I placed a bucket to catch the little water i had allowed back in the pipes. I went to my grandparents house to do laundry and visit. When i returned Wednesday night my basement was covered in water and mud that where spewing through two spots in the floor. Called to get my water shut off again. Later this week a plummer will be replacing the pipe between the curb and my valve, which is so poor it apparently could have been leaking for months or years.

My goodness, what a headache. Plumbing is definitely one of those things you take for granted until you don't have it.

We've been watching the Walking Dead on the Amazon season pass thing, so we get them a day after they air. I guess I should have known better than to look at my Facebook tonight, but before today, no one had put an actual spoiler on there.

I have no idea what it is, but there is something about that show that causes people to abandon any sort of courtesy on facebook. I had last night's episode spoiled by no less than 3 people on my facebook within 10 minutes of the episode ending last night.

Tried to get my old job back today. When I left I was told that I could return to my old position at the beginning of December when I had free time again... only to be told "we don't have any positions open right now."
Guess I'll be enjoying the unemployed life a bit longer.

Yea, I learned to avoid all sorts of social networking after a big death last season was completely spoiled for me minutes after the episode ended. I had recorded it and put it on to watch but was just checking Facebook quick and the first update was a big clear death notice. Very annoying. I've had a few big deaths spoiled on tv shows because of social media or because of spoilery episode recap titles/photos.
