...... do you take part in a lot of drum circles......?
I've been doing hand percussion for about 10 years, so when you're the "bongo guy" or "djembe guy", it just sort of happens naturally sometimes. It always goes the same way though.
- Every one just starts pounding on their drum instead of using basic rhythms that overlap nicely - I leave
If you get guys that know what they're doing, it could be fun, but that never seems to be the case.

I can't peg myself, so I imagine others have trouble as well haha. Not gonna lie, I can tear up a set of Bongos.
... what does this mean... ?
it means "the bongo guy" would make a great title!
I thought I was getting dragged through the mud for a second. I guess I'm going to have to bring something to brunch to bang away at, and hopefully not piss CKS off .

I'm sure your drumming will be beautiful, but alas I won't be there to witness a proper one man drum circle.

Oh that's right, you have to adult this year .
But that's okay, hopefully this is all forgotten and nobody makes me do anything. I'm a pretty outgoing guy, but if you ever want me to shut up and disappear, ask me to play music in front of people. Absolutely terrifying.

Edit: Well, so much for that.
Haha! Well I hope you still come to brunch. If you're not wielding a bongo I doubt anyone will piece it together

Oh, I'll be at brunch this year. We'll see how the bongo thing goes though haha.
Something tells me Smelly isn't going to forget though .
So the lady friend works for a large multinational corporation. They have offices basically everywhere. It's the norm within the company for people to work in other areas for an extended amount of time when the company needs it. Last month, she thought she was going to have to work in Canada for a month or two sure to an acquisition. They ended up redoing the plan and canceling the need for multiple people to go. Last week, she told me she was offered a nine month assignment in California, but she was going to decline it because she would miss summer plans and the assignment wasn't on her main work interest area. Yesterday, she found out that the assignment wasn't optional. She was told she wouldn't leave before next month, and she would be able to fly back for Bonnaroo and Forecastle. In addition, they will pay for me to go visit whenever I want. That's really awesome of them, but it's not the same.
I want to say that nine months will go by much more quickly than you expect (and really, it will), but in the last 15 years, I haven't spent more than a week away from Josh, so I can understand that nine months is quite a long time to be apart (especially relatively early in a relationship). It is good, at least, that her work is somewhat accommodating with travel assistance.
Also, Northern California or Southern?
Yeah. It's going to be a long time. I got no illusions about that. I'm going to see how many weekend trips I can fit in.
She's going to be in Irvine. I already told crazykittensmile that we're going to have to come down to San Diego one trip.

Man, I thought you were going a COMPLETELY different direction with that one!
a few minutes after I posted that I thought about going back and editing "pegged" to something else thanks to broad city. but this gif makes me happy I didn't. bahaha

I work at a Barnes & Noble; we only have meetings a time or two a year.
I NEED an update!!!
On what, the thing with my employee? Our general manager is going to talk to her tomorrow and more or less tell her that she has to take responsibility for her actions, and even if she doesn't like it, she still has to listen to and respect her managers (with kinder words, of course). Things are going to be tense between her and I for a while because she likes to hold a grudge, but I want to try to get her to see that I'm actually helping her by calling her out on her lateness. Last time she was written up (end of last summer I believe - it was her final warning), I told her that she was on her last leg with being written up for lateness and if our boss decides to write her up again, she's going to lose her job and I won't be able to save her this time. By nipping it in the bud before her lateness makes it to the higher-ups, I'm trying to resolve the issue before she ends up on the chopping block. I doubt she'll see it this way, but I really don't want to lose her as an employee, even considering all the aggravation I sometimes have to go through with her. I probably praise her more than my other employees simply because I know how much she minimizes praise and magnifies criticism. I get that people don't like their bosses at times but I really wish she'd stop demonizing me.

yes, this is what I needed to know. hope it all works out.
It's rainy, I feel all blah, and I just want to watch Game of Thrones in my underwear.
I rocked out the book so hard this month that we are two day ahead of schedule and I am just waiting on 4 ads to get submitted before Monday. I am so bored, kinda grumpy and want to watch Game of Thrones in bed in my underwear.
Really though.. all insurance companies are the worst.
And so goddamn profitable. And have a stranglehold on this country. I would levy a hefty bet that 95%+ of finance, insurance, etc owners are within the "1%" and fit into a category.
Another reason to fight the ever-existent psuedo-capitalist imperialism that is America and post-colonialism. (I've been reading to many militant books... but seriously post-colonialism is the realest shit ever that this world's elite and middle classes are tirelessly trying to erase from our histories)

Work has been stretching my mental juggling skills for weeks. I'm already two days late on my band a day write-up on Guster. Once my head retains focus i should get on that.

The gf and I went to an open house yesterday morning. I liked it, she really liked it. It was a fairly convenient location to Providence and highways. We decided to meet with our agent later on to put an offer on it. Five minutes after we left the office, we got a call back about it. Turns out someone at the end of the open house had put in a bid at asking price and it was quickly accepted. On top of that, nobody on that end bothered to tell any of the other agents who were putting together offers.
I was stunned by just how quickly it sold. Wouldn't you expect the sellers to wait a little bit to hear other offers and then decide? I was also surprised the sellers agents never bothered telling anyone that it was sold, so we didn't have to waste our time on a Saturday afternoon working on an offer that was never going to be considered.
