"KINE bud" is actually the correct terminology, or (so I do not dictate your vocabulary) the original terminology of the phrase we've all come to love. It is of Hawiian origin and means "excellent" in its original form. As the term migrated to the US in the 60s hippies mistook it as being said "kind bud" and has been called such ever since.....
