*edit* In my quest to try and make infooroo an even better place than it already is...*edit*
For when you have a question that maybe your fellow inforoosters can help you with ??? but you don't know where else to post it ???
OK, I am a myspace idiot... i've used it for things, but I don't really understand it, and never really thought I'd want to, but if Corncat gives his seal of approval...
So here's my question, Why, when i am on someone's friend part of their page why is it usually mostly just celebreties? I mean, do you just say, I want Robert DeNiro to be my friend, or does he contact you personally because he is interested in getting to know you? Or? Well, what's the deal? I mean, that's definitely not Meg in that video... how do I know? Because in a dream, Corncat told me that she is a BILLION times better than that, and yeah... I'd be interested in getting to know her ...so yes, I'd like to know how this works
In previewing this post, (inforoo tip- also a good way to see what and how words get censored sometimes,) I see that maybe this post could have been placed in the drunken rambling thread and fit in fine, or maybe the drunken cornified thread, but I think this will turn out to be a pretty decent thread. After all, I'd much rather hear it from you guys than from google... inforoo, a source I trust
Hey, speaking of Deniro, Chicken Run is on!!! ;D
*edit* (hey, this is embarassing, Deniro isn't in Chicken Run, I don't know why I thought that... still a funny movie though)*edit*
Maybe this is also the drunken revision thread
*edit* oh, and should this thread get buried, just remember it's there for you if you need it, and yeah, I am truly drunkin' rambling now ;D*edit*
Your initial post was highly entertaining! A much needed work break!

A lot of celebrities have MySpace pages, which you can find by either (1) using the MySpace search function or (2) googling the person (I don't think this will necessarily work every time, but I have found it to work quite often). On each person's page, there is a button that says something like "Add to Friends." If you click on that button, it will send that person a "Friend Request" allowing them to add you as a friend. As far as I can tell, most of the celebrity pages will pretty much add anybody who sends a friend request. Of course, you have to have your own page in order to add or be added.
Also, some pages are obviously just made up by some random person. For instance, my "Number 1 Friend" right now is Special Agent Dale Cooper, but I'm pretty sure it's not the real guy.

My #1 friend is Corncat. And I'm pretty sure he is real. ;D

OK, as soon as I get the chance, (got some things going on, so it might be al little while,) I am going to get a myspace, solicit corncat for his love, and keep my fingers crossed... thanks to you all for keeping me entertained as I try to keep you entertained, and thanks to the loglady for answering my question... truly love you alll... rock on, always keep it alive ;D
I just got switched over to a different unit in my office, which involves keeping about 14-28 files in my office at a time (I used to only have 2 or 3 at a time). One of the people who was also on this unit just left, so his office (which has more bookshelves) has been offered to the rest of us on the unit. (Being the least senior person, this question may be moot. If anybody else wants it, I won't get it).
On the upside are (1) the additional bookshelves and (2) a change in my day-to-day.
There isn't really a downside, except that I don't want the people in the offices next to me to think that I moved away from them (although I doubt that they would - I worry about wierd stuff). And, right now, one of the few people I talk to much is right down the hall. We would be on different floors if I change.
Also, my office now is really close to the kitchen/breakroom, so I wouldn't have such easy access (but that might be a good thing). It may also mean that there would be less traffic past my door, and I wouldn't have to listen to the people in the breakroom at lunch time (they are pretty loud and obnoxious).
I would say go for it, there isn't a downside really like ya said
I miss my old office.. it was on the lower level of a building, it didn't have a window(but server rooms rarely do).. the best part though, was I had my own entrance/exit, there were only 3 other people on the floor so people didn't just "stop by" and ask me to do something, and the heating system was old radiator style.. which i like. Going to chat with co-workers was a staircase away, so I could do it when I wanted..
My new office is a lot louder(smaller room and more servers, less to dampen the sound), and its right in a heavy traffic area.. Electric heat and although it does have a window, there are bars on it.
Should I go to Knoxville this weekend? It's my birthday, and I had been planning to go up there. I probably could benefit from staying here and working, but I don't think it is really necessary. I seem to be pretty well on track for right now. If I go up there, I will see my family and a couple of friends, one of whom has promised me a birthday present. There will not be presents from my family (they bought our Echo tickets for my birthday), but there will be food of some sort, probably dinner out.
On the other hand, if I stay here, I can get a free meal from the Vortex (entree, dessert, non-alcoholic drink, maybe an appetizer, but I forget). And I won't have to drive three and a half hours each way. And Jesus won't be left alone (well, he'd have the dogs) all weekend.

Since I fielded the last one, someone else should try this one..
But I will say that this weekend for me will be dedicated to lounging and relaxing as much as possible so I'm refreshed for the week, that way I'm not exhausted when Thursday rolls around
Not that it matters a lick but the Vortex is one of my fave places....love the fried zucchini! always go for it as a side but that's just me...I could (and do often!) make a meal of it....and they have Hoegaarden on draft - wonderful funky place! Knoxville is fun too tho', but if it were a choice between a free meal at the Vortex, not having to drive and not leaving my man or seeing the family....if I could see the family another time (relatively soon) I'd opt for the former for the b'day and be selfish....but that's just me ;D Do what makes YOU happy girl! It's your Happy Day!
Go see your family. As you can see from recent posts, you won't always have them. Celebrate with sweetevil before AND after. He has Echo coming to keep him occupied, and the dogs ;D
Ok, so my friend John and I rent a 3 level townhouse. The first level is the kitchen and TV watching area, the 2nd level is laundrycloset and John's bedroom/bathroom, the 3rd level is my bedroom and my office(2 seperate rooms). We both smoke cigarettes but have cut down a bit, with plans to quit(yeah, yeah..). Anyway, we don't smoke in the house. The smell of it just drives me especially nuts especially since I've cut down so much...
For some reason.. I'll be sitting here in my office, minding my own business, and suddenly it smells like someones sitting right next to me smoking a cigarette.. it isnt the smell of smoky clothes, its that "cigarette is burning" smell.. it gets especially bad when I have a fan on in here, and usually only happens during the evening or at night.. I'm trying to figure out where the hell its coming from.. It also happens in the laundry area from time to time, but not really anywhere else..

Your phantom senses trying to help you to quit? Or maybe a ghost, how long have you lived there? Previous tennant who's reluctant to go? A bit of a mystery on your hands I see, very strange.
Some townhouses with cheaper construction have common attic areas where smoke from neighboring apartments can leak into others. Or if the heating sytem has a small leak in the duct work it can suck smoke from the attic into the vents. Or uninsulated walls between apartments can leak smoke (if you can easily hear your neighbors this may be an indication of this.) But the ghost idea is pretty cool also.

Y'know, I CAN barely hear it when the neighbors go at it.. you may be right true.. I never see them smoking outside so I figured they weren't smokers, I guess maybe they smoke inside..
Oh, and as for the ghost... that explains why my corn always seems not to last very long... darn corn thiefing ghost..
