Thank you thank you THANK YOU TROO!!! ;D The Taj Mahal is the one thing in India I desperately want to visit....and your pix are gorgeous and make me want to see it in person all the more!!!!
Your wife is absolutely beautiful! I have a very good friend that is an Indian beauty too....to me they are some of the most beautiful women in the world and the wonderful thing is they don't seem to notice or care That is soooo cool....
We went to a couple forts in Agra and Jaipur. These were built centuries ago as fortified palaces for the royalty and so are impressive both defensively and for their artfulness. Every inch of the sandstone is carved in detail. The stone stays cool during the day also making it a comfortable place to visit in the heat.
Alyroo: We did see some textile markets. Got a silk scarf for my sister. The embroidery is beautiful. In Darjeeling they used mostly wool and had wonderful Tibetan desingns also.

I like to imagine the people who did them. Amazingly skilled artisans with little hammers and chisels working for years. Then hundreds of years later people are still in awe....
Troo, I'm super jealous of the textile markets... some of the most beautiful fabric in the world... Oh the Roo dress I could make ;D
WOW, those pix are just stunning Troo! Makes me want to go there so badly....
I can't imagine what it must have looked like in person...those carvings are so intricate....esp for sandstone....it crumbles so easily....more than even limestone which is what we have so much of around here....totally amazing the amount of time that went into that effort....
