So who else was in there with me? I was at the tent 3 hours before the game. They actually evacuated the whole thing to "performe required maintenance" on the generator, reloaded the tent, sat through the whole 'The Rage in Placid Lake' movie (which ended up being ok, I love sexy nerds) despite our best efforts to have them put on the Ghana-Czech Rep. game before it finally came on.
What was it like outside the tent? How many people were trying to get in? All we could see were the renta-cops on their horses blocking the entry when you looked back. Any good soccer hooligan stories? I did see the cinema nazi lady going ape s#it running around the sides of the tent when someone tried to duck under.
Anyone else sitting close to that douchebag who was obnoxiously cheering for the I-ties? I mean come on dude, you were obviously American, now that we're out you can go for whatever your nationality is, but at least support the underdogs then.
It was awesome being in there with other serious fans and passionately cheer and mourn together.

i was outside trying to get a view of the screen through the front door of the tent, but stupid horse lady made a point of making sure she was right in front of the opening. i don't see what the harm would have been to let people watch from outside. i gave up and went over and chilled waiting for rusted root to come on

The people in the tent were being just as rediculous/harsh. The odds of there being a spontaneous fire were next to none, yet they insisted on keeping three 5 ft aisles down the middle and both sides and weren't allowing people in the back behind the seats. They easily could have fit in at least 50 more people, maybe up to 100.
It was kinda funny when the game ended and my friends and I left to taunts of "Eff you" and whatnot cuz we had seats. Can't say I really felt bad, we planned far in advance to be assured of them.
What really was upsetting is that there were a lot of people in there who were just severely wrecked en la cabeza trying to come down. I understand that it is much enjoyable in the A/C, but its the World Cup!! Bonnaroo happens every year, this is a once every 4 year event!

I was outside. I'm a huge soccer fan, and being in that atmosphere out there felt like I was in Europe at a stadium trying to get in. It was great that they had to bring the cops to calm us down. Could you guys here us chanting, and yelling for them to tear the clear plastic tarp down because it was obstructing our view? It sounded like we were louder out there when something happened than you guys were in there. It was great to be in the environment of people who wanted so bad to get in there and cheer for their national team, but couldn't. It was very refreshing to see that after some of the looks I get around town when I wear my soccer jerseys.

the cinema tent at roo was seriously horrible this year... not only did they play a bunch of shitty movies but they were incredibly underprepared for the world cup showing... I watched the game at 6am Friday morning in 02 and the tent was outside... granted it was early in the morning and that may have led to a smaller showing... but that tent was entirely way too small for anything that people would actually want to go to during the festival... basically they had it setup and envisioned as a chill out/relax place... there were couches everywhere and plenty of shameless dolby digital advertisement... the black colored curtains were incredibly ridiculous since if they werent there probably another 1000 people could have watched the game..
And... they didn't even show the Stanley Cup Finals game 6... it was during Radiohead and I wouldn't have gone... but my friend really wanted to see it and although I would have kicked his ass if he didn't see Radiohead they should have at least had that on instead of Scarface or whatever they had at that time
I was in the movie tent during the first gam that morning (don't remember who Portugal/Iran maybe?) and we sat through the whole game then part of the Global Warming special that they showed next. It was during this that they said they were going to be performing the routine maitenance on the generator or something like that. Well, our crew had waited along time to get 2 of the couches on the right side so we were pretty upset about having to leave the tent to go get in line outside to come back in to the tent. So, we just started picking up trash inside the tent with the volunteers. We did this for a good 20 mins or so. They just let us stay in there at that point. There were prob 10 people total who did this. We got our couch seats and all was good. As for the game it self, they should have let more people in. There were people crawling under then sides of the tent on our side. Also there were people peeing in there because they were afraid to leave and lose thier spot. A very crazy Bonnaroo/World Cup experience.

I was there from 9am. I watched the crappy movies. I sat next to the Italian @sshole.
It's a free country. You should cheer for who you support. But when you're sitting in a tent with several hundred loud Americans and you're the only one cheering for your side, keep your f*cking mouth shut when you win a corner kick!
Great atmosphere, though. ESPECIALLY the Ghana chants during the Ben Lee movie (I'm sure it'd be funnier under another circumstance). The aisle-nazi was fun to watch, too. "Sit up." She probably would have done a better job than the @sshole with the whistle in Germany!
