Yeah they played both. Definitely felt that "Staring at the Sun" was a little harder, but still good. I loved in their encore when they brought out Subtle and had them play the different percussive instruments on "A Method" and "Let the Devil In". Definitely a highlight of the show.
What happens if my tee shot lands on a bird's back and he carries it out of bounds but then is attacked by a larger bird who grabs the ball and drops it in the hole? Is that still a hole in one? 'Cause that's how I'm gonna play it.
who saw Lotus at bowery? that show was off the hook, one of my top shows was lotus at rebel back in nov 06 but the bowery show just took over that spot. Lotus is amazing everyone listen to and go see Lotus u wont regret it at all
I saw MMW at the New Daisy about a week ago. Great show with the Wood Brothers opening. In Memphis, we've got Neko Case@ the Hi-Tone, Particle @ Newby's, the Wailers @ Newby's, and Sound Tribe Sector 9 @ the New Daisy (all coming in April). Then there's Son Volt @ the Young Avenue Deli in May, and Al Green @ the Botanic Garden in July. And of course, the Memphis in May festivities all throughout May (Music Fest, BBQ Fest, & Sunset Symphony).

Anybody checking out any of the Umphrey's shows with Adrian Belew. They're playing four shows with him, I'll only be at the Canopy Club show because of other responsibilities I must take care of. I have a feeling these shows are gonna be outta this world.
"We've all been raised on television to believe that one day we'd all be millionaires, movie gods, and rock stars. But we wont, and we're slowly learning that fact & we're very, very pissed off......."
I saw the Last Breed tour tonight at the Backyard in Austin. Ray Price opened with a solid set. Then Asleep at the Wheel came on and started playing a few tunes. Then Johnny Gimble and Merle Haggard came on with fiddles and did some swing pieces before Merle strapped on the guitar and played a few of his standard tunes. Then halfway through Okie From Muskogee, Willie Nelson comes out and that's pretty much when the place lost it. Then Ray Price came back out and at one point you had Ray Benson on eletric, Merle on electric, Johnny Gimble on fiddle, Willie picking away on acoustic and Ray Price singing vocals. They did "Night Life" and "Crazy" together. Oh...and Freddie Towers came out to do a song. Pretty amazing night if you're a fan of real country music. Everyone was covered from Floyd Tillman to Townes Van Zandt to Hank Williams. Good shit.

I went to see Of Montreal and Lonely,Dear yesterday for a sold out show at the Beachland Ballroom. Long story short I danced so much I puked at the end of the show. So much jumping and dancing and craziness.
*i like coconuts, you can break them open they smell like ladies lyin in the sun** *Hell I don't even know where I am** *for now I must sit here and ponder the yonder: The herbivores did well cause their food didn't never run** *We listen, if it feels good We shake** *You made a big impression for a girl of your size, Now I can't get by without you and your big brown eyes.**
was at a great local punk show last night, princess die, haut chachis, grim hymn & the horrors, and headliner no means no. those guys are from victoria, probably pushing 60, and have been doing this for 30 some-odd years and they rocked the house!! it was great, who knew there would be a mosh pit in the campus pub??
Saw Menomena last night at Johnny Brenda's in Philly. What a great freakin show. Those guys are awesome. I'm sure they play pretty much the same set list all the time, but the set list was outstanding. Every song I wanted to hear, they played. JB's is a sweet place too. I've been there before, but not upstairs to see the band. The place was filled to the brim last night. God their falafels are REALLY good. Pretty great night all around. I highly recommend catching these guys when they come to your town.

Saw The Cold War Kids last night in Boston, actually Cambridge at The Middle East; they put on a good show. The place was sold out and they had great energy.... They should do well at Bonnaroo, excellent jam mid-set with band members from the opening bands...

I've had to be really conservative with cash lately so I haven't gone to anything since the Saul Williams spoken word show in Feb.
Next for me will be the 4/20 date for Brother Ali's 'Undisputed Truth Tour' in Madison. Psalm One, Toki Wright, and a couple others will be there as well.
Oh, I'm sure I'll be there. Clutch seem to really like Memphis; they play here just about every time they tour. And I've been to most of those shows. I really dug the show where they opened for COC at the Daisy. Great stuff.
Saw Kid Koala last night, very impressive skills, he had the crowd jumpin' Also recently caught Spiritualized Rez, they mashed-up ska, funk and reggae into a nice little stew and also Michael Franti and Spearhead - always a good show. Also caught The Silversun Pickups, they reminded me a little of Sonic Youth and Yo La Tengo but have their own voice, and a nice voice it is. Probably seen about 15 other bands in the past couple of months too....I'm really enjoying my leisure time! I'll be heading up to the Beale Street Music Festival in May so that will be another 60 bands to see. Yeah, I'm a little obsessed with live music.

BLACK ANGELS and VIETNAM April 3rd
Great show, yup. Black Angels are so down to earth i love it, they were all hanging out and we got to chat with Alex and a few other members while we were waiting for the show. Pretty awesome show, really looking forward to the Bonnaroo set, they will make full use out of the huge sound system and its going to be great. They played a pretty standard set, open with my favorite song, Bloodhounds on my Trial. The night before in Cleveland they played a 20 some min freakout jam which Alex was really excited about this night and was talking to us about. I hope they do it at Bonnaroo.
Interesting stupid side story. I was speaking to Alex in Ohio who's from Austin this night while my brother from Austin was in Austin and happened to meet a guy who lives with Alex and his wife down in Austin. Small world, 2 brothers, 2 roomates to different states.
Caught Umphrey's in Northampton, MA last night. Awesome show. I'd definitely put it in my top 3 shows. The first set could be my favorite set by them. The show wasn't even full of a lot of heavy hitters, it was just played extremely well. Jamming out songs that are usually pretty standard. Thats about all I got right now, late show plus bad weather made it so I didn't get home until 6 a.m. Slept for an hour and then had to be at work. I'm not being very productive today.
just saw Peeping Tom on monday at Irving plaza, awesome show mad energy and Dub Trio played the entire show as backing band, plus Rahzel coming out for the last 3 songs and encore was sick. as for upcoming Umphreys tomorow at Nokia then Brothers Past after show at BB Kings and Toubab on Sat also at BB Kings, i'll let u all know how they were when i recover
They generally do! I'm so fired up to see them at Roo. Craig also seems like he's looking forward to being there and at a bunch of other festivals this summer. Can you imagine how crazy people would go hearing "Chillout Tent" at a festival like Roo?
