I went through the CD section and I liked how they had artists that played there in the past as well the ppl playing this year. How did the autograph signings go?

i bought the Neil Young Heart of Gold DVD and the new Costello/Tousaint cd. I went for the Shooter Jennings autograph signing and he cancelled. I heard Sonic Youth cancelled too.
I have to give massive credit to Tower for the CD signings. They were better organized than last year and the people really cared-- they didn't pressure hard (or require) you to buy something from them to get things signed, and the artists seemed happy too.
Also, to preemptively diffuse anyone pissed off about the Sonic Youth cancellation-- Tower had nothing to do with it... 15 minutes after they were supposed to be signing Tower was told Sonic Youth had bus trouble and had to cancel. Later I went by and was told that Sonic Youth's people had made up that bullshit story (which sucked doubly for Tower, who had moved SY's signing time because they said they wanted to see Malkmus- and still got screwed). Anyway, I thought they did great and we were sure to tell them that when we were there. We got several autographs from the signings and were impressed that things were timely.

I thought Tower was better than Cat's in the past. As sucky as it is to have a major chain replace a local one, it was run better, set up better, and felt more comfortable than Cat's tent.
I only wish that the Sonic Stage space was bigger. Getting in and out of Tower was impossible during most performances.

Very true. That whole area is always a clusterf_uck. Especially when you have one band signing and another on stage of two different fan bases... World Party vs. Moe was like that.
