Anyone game for some kind of gathering for new years? I figured I would post this now to get the ball rolling. This would be a good time (maybe) for people to gather and touch base if we had meet at Bonnaroo or even the first time meeting people from the forum. I don't have a place in mind as of yet, so I am looking at some feedback from anyone that might be game.
Hoping to be in Chicago for New Years. 3 nights of Umprhrey's. If that doesn't happen I'll probably go to Philly. Not sure if I'd rather go to Tea Leaf or the Biscuits. Leaning toward Tea Leaf Green.
Philly looks fun. I want to go somwhere different for new years. For some reason NYC just doesn't do anything for me..plus its just way too many ppl for my taste.
Seems that all my friends are going away to various places or going to be with thier gf's, so I'd definately be up for a show somewhere's near. Philly's a no-brainer for me, but I'd go see Moe. in NYC as well. Dunno, I'm wide open for something though.
moe. would be a good show, I just not too keen on going into the city. Plus it would have to be something my gf might want to do as well since it will be one of the few times seeing her due to working through and on the main holidays. I can con her in doing Keller or J5..but not moe. :-(
I'd definitely be up for something in Philly or anywhere northeastern, so you can tentatively count me in... i can easily con my boyfriend into coming as long as I don't get suckered into something he's planning with his friends.
Jay (and anyone really) if you are going to need a place to crash I'm about an hour and 15 min outside Philly...
I don't think I'll be doing Philly anymore. The Disco Biscuits pulled some screw sh*t with their tickets. They are playing the nights leading up to NYE in the area but tickets for those shows are sold as part of the NYE package. Basically if you didn't buy tickets right when they went on sale you got closed out of the other shows but are still paying like $80 for just the NYE show. Sucks for someone like me who will probably wait until the last minute. I'm really considering heading up to Troy NY(right near Albany) and partying with The Duo. The venue they are playing is great and it won't be a giant crowd.
So it's official for me -- we booked a couple nights at the Marriott downtown (Denver) and will be checking out New Monsoon/Hot Buttered Rum during their run at Cervantes, on the 30th, and then YMSB at the Fillmore on New Year's Eve. Good, blurry, times will be had.

hey guys i havent posted in here for quite awhile,(infact i havent even looked in here since before the roo) but i just wanted to throw out there if anyone wants a ticket to the biscuits for the 30th (at the e-factory) and 31st (at the tweeter center) i have one extra. people are selling them on e-bay for rediculous amounts (so i hear), but i cant bring myself to do crap like that. so if anyone wants to hang out with a bunch of crazies for either of the shows let me know.
Looks like I am going to see the Brazilian Girls @ Irving Plaza on New Years. I wouldn't mind seeing Gov't Mule, moe., U-melt or Brothers past that day...but the gf is not much into the jamband stuff :-( Though I have to say The Brazilian Girls are a fair compromise because I like them and they put on a great show.
