Just today I went through all of the Bonnaroo Gear with my friend watched some Blue room proformances and just talked about our first bonnaroo experience for hours today. We even convinced some people that Bonnaroo is the best place on earth and got them just as excited if not more that what we were last year.
Memories of the first walk down shakedown to get to the tenting only
The first time dancing arround the mushroom foutain
seeing so many amazing proformances one after another for days
all the people we met the good and the weird
Magic Hat #1 beer in my book first tasted wile wondering through the sonic forest
All the mind blowing arcade games
Being albe to walk up to anyone and talk about anything knowing they have the same enthusiasm as you for the Roo
I cant wait Till next year mean wile I could Write a book and a half just about this year Im sure the rest of you feel the same So share your favorite Bonnaroo Moments with me and the rest of the community
You think it's hard waiting for roo where you're at??
Try living right beside it and having to drive past every day!!
Every time I drive past the roo farm, I can imagine all the tents and all the people and the sights and sounds and smells that make it the roo!!
It's like living in Disney land, but all the rides are closed all year except for one weekend!
You guys (you and Teine) have it pretty good. I had no idea until Teine took me to his house and saw that Bonnaroo is literally in your guys backs yard. I think he even said to me that he would have probably have moved already if it wasn't for the fact that Bonnaroo is right there. If I had a home there I would never leave.
Just one quick question for ya...has the prices of rent and house in that area have gone up or down
I own my home there in the neighborhood and have since before Bonnaroo. I am really not sure abou tthe housing market because I just haven't been in it, but from what I can tell, Roo have had NO impact on our housing market here.
Remember, Roo is only 4 days out of the year, Manchester still exists the other 361 days of the year.
Aside from myself, Joel and a few others, Bonnaroo is not that big of a deal to the local population around here. Only during the festival is it something of a conversation topic.
I know a lot of people here in Manchester that schedule their summer vaction around the roo weekend just to get the heck outta here.
For people like Joel and I who embrase everything that is Bonnaroo, however, it is certainly a perk to live where we do. The free tickets to Roo are awesome, but for me, living her during the festival is all about atmosphere.
The area where we live becaomes something totally different during Roo time.
Di you see where I lived while you were her last year LI?
You know how Teine and my neighborhood is shaped like a horse shoe. Joel lilve on the outter side of the horse shoe on his side of the neighborhood.
I basically live directly across from Joel, but all the way over on the outter side of the shoe on the far side. Did that make sense????
Anyway, what I am getting at is that if I don't want to walk over to the festival, I can sit in my back yard and clearly here the main stage.
Actually, due to where my house is situated, I have a shorter walk from home than some of those poor ole saps that get stuck all the way at the far campground right by our neighborhood.
Which brings up another topic. If I drove across the country, and paid the same amount for my ticket that everyone esle did, I would be pissed if I had to camp there!
Man I am getting juiced about Roo this year. I am definitely camping in tent only!
Tenting only is definatly the place to be, I dident realy know my neibors accept for some I met before we made it to Bonnaroo. Close to the entrance close to the Ice and Store semi close to shakedown.
I want to do the tent only this year. The walk wasn't too bad. But it ate some time out of our day. I just have to figure out how to get that much beer from the car to the campsite.

Let me tell you...it's not easy. Make sure you have a cart or something. If not, make sure you find somebody else with a cart that will allow you to piggy back. We would have NEVER got it all the way over without that dude with the big ol' garden cart...bless you garden cart man.

or a wheelbarrow ;D
I'm still debating tent only vs. VIP, would be nice to be right next to your car, plus showers whenever you want, cheap beer, free food, clean potties... but the exclusivity of it turns me off some.
the inforoo camp last year was just awesome, seriously one of the very best times i've ever had in my life

I know the feeling all too well. Now and then when I come home I'll stop in to get gas at the golden gallon (because it's so ridiculously cheap!) and I'll drive down bushy branch, lay on the hood of my car, and just watch the arch.
I hate that they've got it all fenced in. There's times when I just want to walk the streets and reminisce, but I can't. Sucks.
I'm so jealous of you that live near by ( even though they have it fenced off it wouldent stop me from sitting at the mushroom foutain) anyway I'm Glad to see this thread growing,
by the way nol13 where in Bonnaroo is that (great) pic from?
I don't think I could do tent only, I liked having the convenience of my car being right next to me, I never had to fully unpack/unload. I hope I can get some friends to join me this year. Last year it was just myself and one other friend, I'd like to go with a larger group or convince my boyfriend to go.
oh my god I love tent-only and would be so sad to not be in it It's soooo nice and close... and I would just hate that I can't hang out with whoever I want all night if I was in VIP cause they can't get in... I looooved coming back to camp at the end of the night and just chilling in the canopy till the wee hours. And getting up in the morning and seeing everyone was already awake and gathered!
Wow, last year was so great, I'm gonna have unusually high standards now, even for roo!
