Thanks for all the input. As former RVers, & beach bums, we have lots of different chairs. We have some of the low sitting ones, as well as the regular foldable chairs you carry with a strap over your shoulder. We have the small tables that go with those too. Then we have the bigger foldable chairs that you carry with a strap. They have a foot rest, & some have an umbrella. If we end up staying in the campground, we'll bring the biggest ones to leave at the camper. I was thinking I'd take one of the regular size foldable chairs to the festival. My guys probably won't bring a chair, so they can take turns carrying mine. ;D Unfortunately, the chairs that sit low to the ground don't work for me anymore.
To better understand where I'm coming from, I should have mentioned that I have arthritis in my back & knees, as well as a deteorating spine. I need back support in a chair, & it's difficult to get up out of the low seats, when my knees swell. I suppose I could bring a Drs. note, but I hate doing that. I'm fairly young & look healthy at 1st glance. I feel like people look at me like I'm trying to beat the system. I'd rather bring something that won't interfere with anyone else's viewing, & won't make it appear that I expect special treatment.

We bought a "zip-up" outdoor blanket from Bed Bath & Beyond last year. It was perfect. Not only was it water-proof, but it was both light-weight and easy to rinse off. It also had a strap, so once you zipped it, you could carry it like a small bag (very, very light weight). It also had a pocket on the outside that you coud use once zipped, and it was perfect for our maps & t-shirts.
I think we may have the same one. ;D Is yours red & white?

soo this chair talk reminded me of our "trojan rug" scheme from last year.
We purchased a rug at a yard sale on the way down - we thought we were kings of the world having a kick ass rug in front of our tents. Sunday night we pondered what the heck we would do with the rug and decided to bring it into the show to chill on. Then the brain started churnin and we decided to roll it up; fill it with beer and ice and carry it in. Unbelievably no one said a word to us
then in a simple twist of fate at halfime we decided the rug was wrong and we needed to be up front. My sily pals wanted to bequeeth the rug to someone less fortunate - turned out that the first guys they asked were friends of mine who I hadn't seen in over 29 years.
something like that is serious though, so it's not like you'd be faking (and unfortunately a lot of people do fake stuff for roo, like taking grandma's handicapped tag so they can be closer to the front, so I don't think anyone would suspect you of sneaking in)...
did you realize there is accessible parking for RV's that is very close to centeroo? just in case you didn't think about that option before, here's the link to last year's Access guide...

They had red and white? Ours is brown on the outside with multi-colored stripes on the inside. I didn't get to pick it out since my best friend works there and she picked it out (and paid for it to, thank you very much). I definitely think it was one of the best investments we made for the whole weekend.
Don't sweat bringing the doctor's note -- it's the best way to make sure that you enjoy your experience. A high-backed chair won't deter from others' enjoyment but it's nice of you to be concerned about it!

Tara, Thanks for the link. We haven't decided for sure what we're going to do about accommodations. We travel with a mini-pin (4 legged baby girl ). I don't think they'll allow her in that area. That would be nice though.
I may go ahead & bring documentation, in case it's completely necessary. I usually just take time out & rest, when I get really bad. I'm not usually at Bonnaroo though. ;D
mikelly, Looks like we're neighbors. We're undecided on the campground. We'd like to wait to see what they offer for hotel packages, & see which we think will work better for us. We definitely don't want to wait too long though.

I'm tellin ya KOA is the way to go. Soo close to the action yet chilled out. No need to drive anywhere and all the amenities of home
I see lots of parent / child campers here - trust me you will like it.
I'm not sure if it's been mentioned already, but the two main stages (if I recall correctly) also have bleachers to sit on for VIP only. They're out in the hot sun, but it's a way not to have to lug the chair to the headliners at night. Just thought I would throw that out there.
