Does anyone know of any articles, or any sites that have bonnaroo articles -- that talk about the safety and all that stuff. Specifically that say good stuff about bonnaroo.
Good articles would help the parents to feel better about letting me go. If they agree. Thanks.
Just tell them that there's nothing to worry about because you won't have to drive anywhere. If you get hammered or anything else it doesn't matter because you're in a safe enviroment where you can just go back to your tent and chill.
Im assuming that you are not 18 and you live in PA, you probably got a lot of convincing to do. When I was young my parents would have laughed at me if I asked them if I could go to TN for 4or5 days to go to a fest that is comparable to Woodstock. I have seen young kids there before but they were with their parents. You aint going to find many articles that say all good things about roo. Good Luck
Go to the 2006 Bonnaroo page and the tab that says Info. This pretty much states what is allowed, whats not allowed, what is provided, how to get there, medical and so on. If you are going to show them anything, this would be your best bet. Good Luck!
Last year two people died at the event from drug overdoses, and thus the crackdown was in full force this year....In 2004, officers confiscated 84 nitrous oxide tanks, wrote 200 citations and made 47 arrests. This year, 93 nitrous oxide tanks were confiscated, 80 people were arrested on various charges, 300 were issued citations for misdemeanors and 179 citations were given for possession of illegal drugs.

Yeah it also said this too.
According to Graves, the largest drug bust of the festival was made by the Tennessee Highway Patrol, which seized 100 pounds of marijuana, while the Coffee County Sheriff’s department confiscated an additional 50 pounds of marijuana and 12 pounds of mushrooms. When a subject with drugs is discovered, the undercover agents and staff security move him to one of the gates, where he is charged and taken into custody or given a citation.
man they went from being rich. to likely being in debt and in jail. the cops wrote tickets for up to 2 pounds this year and let you go on your way to come back for court later. im sure those dudes got arrested though. it sucks that they crack down like that and all they find is weed and shrooms. they need to find the crack and the meth.

You guys read my mind. The first thing I did was edit it a bit and took out the overdose and drug bust thing. Then I highlighted the good parts like when they talk about how many police they have and all the medical stuff.
I'm gonna gather more info, then give it to my rents. I'm thinking about waiting till the day the line-up comes out ( It'll be the day of my 17th b-day ) . I'll print out the line-up and show how many good bands are gonna be there, and maybe them saying yes will be my birthday present.
They let me go last year. But are all weird about this year. But I'm trying !

It was a couple months before my 18th birthday, but I have the exact same story. I had EVERYTHING planned out. Bus routes, times, fares, drop off points, and all that jazz. It would have been my buddy and myself, and at one point after our parents put the hammer down, we thought about just taking off and driving up -- glad we didn't have the sack to do it.
