Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Since there are currently 33 pages of discussion about the first clue ("Peter Pan had a good roast before he was beat to a pulp, and the ocean spray from a westward bay invites you to take a big gulp"), I thought I would try and lay out the arguments for what seem to be the most popular answers and see where we all currently fall.
We know from Twitter that it's not two bands and that we are not going to get confirmation if we get it right.
Alphabetically:
The Cranberries -- this seems to be based mainly on the link between "ocean spray" and Ocean Spay cranberry juice and rumours of an impending Cranberries reunion.
Peanut Butter Wolf -- Peanut Butter comes from "Peter Pan" and the "roasted before being beat to a pulp" while the Wolf comes from the "bay" (howl) of a wolf and DJJD switching his alter ego from hand to hound (and all of the canine clues leading up to it).
Peter, Bjorn and John -- the same Peanut Butter argument from Peanut Butter Wolf is used to indicate the initials PB while "ocean spray" and "take a big gulp" were used to indicate juice or J. The PB&J was then taken as Peter, Bjorn and John.
Snoop Dogg -- Snoop comes from extrapolating the Peanut Butter argument to the Peanuts cartoon and Snoopy being one of its stars. Dogg follows the Wolf argument from Peanut Butter Wolf. Arguably, his biggest hit was "Gin and Juice". Also, Snoop likes to "get roasted" and some of the hints about the clue were given in a what may potentially have been meant as urban slang.
There are plenty of other theories out there and any of them may be right but I wanted to at least put the most popular to a vote. If you feel that I misrepresented one of the arguments for the artists above, please feel free to correct me. (As long as you're nice about it I'll promise not to take offense!! )
In order to prevent this from lingering forever (it is not meant to replace our current thread, just to try and see if we have any consensus), this poll will close at midnight EST Sunday.
I say Chuck Berry I explain my reasonong in greater detail in the thread but basicly Roast=chuck cranBERRY and the name most associated with peanuts George Washington Carver and Chuck Berry are both form Missouri
I was lying in a burned out basement With the full moon in my eyes. I was hoping for replacement When the sun burst thru the sky. There was a band playing in my head And I felt like getting high.
I can't tell you how to vote but my hope was that your vote would be dictated by the reasoning behind that particular artist. I can say that voting for who you want to play instead of who you think that the clues point to really isn't helping to determine if we have a consensus about the clues.

I'm going to throw out something totally bizarre. Peter Pan = Neverland and west coast bay makes me think of San Fransisco from hence hales Negativeland. Probably just wishful thinking on my part, but what an unbelievable late night experience that would be.

John: We don't even understand our own music Spider: It doesn't, does it matter whether we understand it? At least it'll give us . . . strength John: I know but maybe we could get into it more if we understood it
Michael Franti and Spearhead. They are hip hop and relate to youth yet Franti is in his 40's.He is a shoeless rebel kid.Spearhead had a cd Yell Fire. They are from San Francisco. They have a song that has the line Boiling water for the tea of the nation ... And they have a cd out now and are touring. I hope they are at roo even if this clue just means they are handing out free grilled pb&j's made by someone from California. It fits.
Instead of dirt and poison, we have rather chosen to fill our hives with honey and wax; thus furnishing mankind with the two noblest of things, which are sweetness and light.

I guessed Robin Williams and The Cranberries in the clue thread so I'll vote other. I kind of hope nobody has guessed yet and Mr. DJ is getting very creative with the clues.
