not talking about complete lineup necessarily... Mabey more about the time i had. Radiohead and Phish are my two favorite bands by far but there was something about 08 that made it special. Mabey i should say just a little more special than the others because every Bonnaroo is a gift from the heavens. 08 just worked out perfect (didnt waste a second of it on Kanye). I am NOT a PJ or Metallica fan and tho i missed Metallica (i wanted a 100% guarantee at a $ spot for MMJ) PJ blew me away. It was amazing. Also b/c of the "smaller" crowd at Roo that year i was able to get sooo close for almost every show i was at. Thursday 08 and Sunday 09 are the two best days of my life.

I'm thinking next year's headliners are included in this list:
Allman Brothers Coldplay The Cure Daft Punk Dave Matthews Band David Bowie The Dead Depeche Mode Jay-Z Kid Rock Kings of Leon My Morning Jacket Neil Young Oasis OutKast Paul McCartney Prince Radiohead Rage REM RHCP Roger Waters U2 White Stripes The Who
but what I'd like to see:
Fri: Coldplay, Arcade Fire (late night Which Stage) Sat: Roger Waters, Daft Punk (late night Which Stage) Sun: The Dead
Thats a pretty believable list, with Bowie and Outkast being the long shots. The only real change would be taking off Kid Rock (who doesnt seem relevant enough). Rolling Stones are going on a world tour next year, and i would be surprised if that isnt AC/Superfly's first choice to top the bill next year (whether we want them or not).
i would like to see
Fri: REM (Arcade Fire ln) Sat. McCartney (Daft Punk ln) Sun: MMJ
-When I Hear My Name -Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground -Blue Orchid -Passive Manipulation -Red Rain -Death Letter -My Doorbell -Hotel Yorba -Same Boy You've Always Known -Lovesick -Little Ghost -We're Going to Be Friends -The Hardest Button to Button -Black Math -The Nurse -I Just Don't Know What to Do With Myself
Encore: -Ball and Biscuit -Seven Nation Army -Screwdriver

I would be 10x more excited about the late night. But the good thing about the majority of bands that nite listed is I think most actually warrant going to see for a majority of their set. I think it will be hard for Bonnaroo to let me down next year with their top 5.
...and yes, '09 was epic at the top, '08 had one of the best under-cards ever, '07 had some sick late-night action and '06 was the best overall line up 'Roo has ever seen period.
"We're no longer called Sonic Death Monkey. We're on the verge of becoming Kathleen Turner Overdrive, but just for tonight, we are Barry Jive and his Uptown Five. "

RHCP would be a HORRIBLE choice for headliner. I used to be a big fan until I saw them at lollapalooza in 06. They barely played for an hour and a half and the setlist was pretty bad.

If you changed your entire opinion of a band based on ONE bad concert experience, esp. at freakin' Lolla, then there's no hope for you anyway. Every act has a had bad night occasionally....

I have seen them multiple times and have never been impressed. And chances are their set at bonnaroo would be pretty similar to their set at "freakin' lolla."

Also I would rather have Coldplay than RHCP. They put on a great show, and at an hour and a half for their set, I would have a lot more energy for latenights.

I am just saying Radiohead 3 songs in 3 weeks. Something is up. Might be a possibility. I'm freaking out song sounds like a HTTT, Amnesiac, IR orgasmic clusterfuck.

You guys do realize that RHCP would be billed the same way NIN was billed this year. They're no longer the drawing power or the band they once were. They will not headline. Personally, I think
Jay-Z w/ Coldplay backing him Rolling Stones The Dead or Phish or DMB

I think that the RHCP are bigger than you think. They were a huge draw the last time they toured and after a hiatus there will only be more demand.
