When I saw "news" and "important topics" I immediately thought of the BBC...and Belle & Sebastian's BBC Sessions. But I have no idea how "funny" would fit in there.
I think this one may be GWAR. Don't they often make references to political figures, entertainment figures, and semi current news. The also would be as DJJD says "hardest" and "funniest".
Also didn't they have one member who used to make appearances on Fox News. On one if the late night shows on Fox News.
The only good use for newspaper is to cover the bottom of bird cages. Spiro Agnew said something like that. Probably good for elephant cages too. Cage The Elephant, but they were on the farm in '09... But, you need to frequently clean the paper from the bottom of an elephant cage, I bet.
I already mentioned Fleet Foxes, the conservative news with unstoppable enematic zeal. Then there's political journalism feeding with their biased hunger for scraps of news; them crooked vultures.

My favorite responses so far are RAGE and Dispatch/State Radio. I will be seeing Chad this weekend, I'll ask him about Roo. I'll keep ya updated.
Tell him to stop teasing us with dispatch reunions every 2 years and to just get it over with and have dispatch headline bonnaroo 2011...
I said in another post I would love to see state radio, pete francis, and braddigan play tent shows, then unite sunday to close it out.. that would be amazing but I'm pretty sure bonnaroo would be sold out within 30 minutes of the confirmation....
I was thinking more along the lines of The New Pornographers due to "The Fake Headlines".
"I wrote the news today..."
Edit: And they just announced that they have an album coming out in May. Which means there will probably be a tour to support it starting in... April or so. But DJJD's recent tweet might rule this out, since it was mentioned (though not seriously) earlier.

News that covers important topics at Bonnaroo is The Bonnaroo Beacon. Which takes us to The Beacon Theatre where the Allman's play every spring ( except this one, when they instead booked Banana Spheel.which i find pretty funny )
i haven't had a chance to go through this whole thread, so i'm not sure if this has been mentioned, but based on the above conservative news angle (glenn beck, etc.) i'm thinking it could be Fuc ked Up, since their singer is doing a segment on some fox news show i believe
