For the record, I didn't actually spend money on a Jason Bay jersey. My friend gave it to me for free. (I'm pretty sure he spent like $50+ on it haha).
Wow it must be flame-retardant. Azzhole filters...
Up until I was about 3 years old my father had a very serious beard. Then, one day, he just went and shaved it off entirely and when he picked me up I started squirming and crying because I had no clue who the dude trying to steal me was.
Watching Keith Hernandez speak without a 'stache is similarly scary and upsetting.
^Unfortunatly Doc hasnt been seen all season. Filing a Missing Persons Report after work.
That's what happens to 35 year olds with arm problems. We have Johan, the Phils have Doc.
It's pretty upsetting when you watch a guy who you have seen dominate in the past simply not cut it anymore because his body is failing him.
Doc simply doesn't pound the zone with his fastball anymore, making all his offspeed stuff much easier to time and hit.
"Dosnt cut it" is right. Or 2 seam it either. Both his high velocity pitches that he relied on and had amazing movement. Deduct 2mph off a pitch and the whole flow of the baseball is flawed. He needs to learn to pitch smarter and not try and out muscle these kids anymore. But I dont see a competitive/once dominant guy like Doc trying to flip his script. Downhill from here.

Always makes me wonder if the Maddux's, Glavine's, and others of the pitching world have it right with throwing low 90s but doing so consistently and mixing speed with control and deception for what seems to be forever long careers. Hell, I believe Tom Glavine wasn't placed on the DL until the last year of his career.

Throwing an boatload of splitters throughout his career hasn't helped I'm sure. There's a reason a lot of organizations don't even let their prospects throw them.

B/@jeffp1717 - Not even a little bit. Whoa - Phillies, Cubs, and the Double A Marlins. Bring it on. I'll be at the games this weekend and I will let you know Sunday night how I'm feeling. I forgot I had more than friggin' rdk to deal with on this sh*t.

Hey guys, rank all the current stadiums you've been to! (I just got back from Petco and it was really cool and I'm still kind of drunk and have been changing my list in my mind the last four hours.)
1. PNC Park 2. Petco Park 3. Camden Yards 4. (New) Busch Stadium 5. Miller Park 6. Wrigley Field 7. Chase Field 8. U.S. Cellular Field
9. Tropicana Field
Miller Park's the biggest wild card because if pregame atmosphere is included it's probably number 1 because there's no way any other MLB tailgate even approaches it if they have it at all. The stadium itself is kind of meh, though. And Petco Park might be like that new album you hear and immediately love and think it's the greatest ever but when you revisit it 6 months later you're like whoa I overrated this.
Hey guys, rank all the current stadiums you've been to! (I just got back from Petco and it was really cool and I'm still kind of drunk and have been changing my list in my mind the last four hours.)
1. Wrigley Field..The baseball nostalgia factor is way up there for me 2. Camden Yards 3. Turner Field
4. New Marlins Stadium (Major upgrade from the Joe Robbie days) 5. U.S. Cellular 6. Oakland Coliseum or wherever the hell the A's play 7. Candlestick Park (old Giants Stadium) 8. Tropicana Field (They've put it together pretty nicely I'll admit it's just too bad it looks like it is in a minor league hockey dome) 9. Joe Robbie (old Marlins Stadium. Absolutely no excitement at this stadium and horrible for viewing baseball)
Wishlist includes: Fenway, Chase, Kauffman, & Comerica. Hoping that I'll be knocking Comerica off the list in the summer thanks to being in Michigan for a friends wedding.
1. Shea Stadium (I know it was a giant toilet bowl, but it was special) 2. Citifield (Not really a homer pick, I think it's a beautiful ballpark) 3. Wrigley (Sat in the bleachers in a Doc Gooden jersey...Chicago is very inventive when it comes to insults) 4. Camden yards (Been a few times, just a great ballpark all-around) 5. Yankee Stadium (the original) 6. Fenway (I think people overrate it because of history, but I always have a good time there since I'm not a Yankee fan) 7. Chase Field (AZ vacation when I was 12, different experience than I would have today, I think) 8. Nationals Park (Nice ballpark, division rival -3 spots) 9. Citizens Bank park (Little league world series ballpark, -5 spots for hated division rival) 10. Rogers Centre (Never saw a game in a dome before) 11. Dodgers Stadium (You can't sneak down to better seats when there's 10,000 people at a game...saw the Mets crush them in a meaningless July game) 12. Oakland Coliseum (old) 13. Marlins Stadium (that monstrosity in center almost put it last, but....) 14. New Yankee Stadium (a giant ATM machine with some grass in the middle)
I also went to old Tiger Stadium, but I was 5 or 6 and don't really remember it.
1. Turner Field (Just doesn't get any better. The first of the new class of stadiums and it of course feels like home to me.) 2. Camden Yards (Beautiful, beautiful park. Got to go when Ripken's streak was alive so seeing those numbers on the brick facade in right was a nice treat, too.) 3. Wrigley Field (Probably simply for the history alone.) 4. Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium (Memories. Equivalent to Flanzo's love for Shea, I would assume.) 5. Kauffman Stadium (This is actually the park I've been to the most besides Turner. My dad lived there for a while and we caught lots of games. Really love that park. Coincidently, the Royals are my AL team.) 6. Fenway Park (We went during the darkest days of the franchise but it was just a joy to be there.) 7. Yankee Stadium (Got to see my Royals beat the Yanks from behind home plate. Again, historical importance colors this pick.) 8. Astrodome (I don't remember much about it but I loved that monstrosity.) 9. PETCO Park (Really nice new park.) 10. Dodger Stadium (Sort of run-down but it was cool to go.) 11. Angel Stadium (Rally monkey.) 12. Shea Stadium (Sorry Flanz.) 13. Tropicana Field 14. Milwaukee County Stadium 15. U.S. Cellular Field 16. Jacobs Field 17. Olympic Stadium (This stadium was awful and there were no fans there, but I was there during warmups and Vlad and Fernando Vina (I think) were playing catch and Vlad threw the ball back and forth with me a couple of times and that made my life as a kid.) 18. Riverfront Stadium 19. Veterans Stadium (Worst place on earth. Good riddance. I'm sure Citizens Bank is the new worst place on earth.)
EDIT: The only stadiums of these that I've been to as an adult are Turner and the California ones. My dad used to pick me up and we would go on treks to parks as kind of our 'thing.' I miss going to visit other parks; there are so many new ones I want to check out now. I'd love to see games in PNC, Busch, Nationals, etc.
I was a strange kid when it came to this stuff though. I got a program every single time I went to a park and kept score.

It's going to be a great race and exciting year. Obviously I'm not going to put much stock in the Braves being the BEST TEAM IN BASEBALL yet, but this weekend is going to be huge. Wish I could be there talking smack in person.
I have a scorecard at my parent's house from Robin Ventura's Grand Slam Single game. I stopped in like the 6th inning because I just couldn't handle it with the game going on. And the guy next to me spilled a beer on it, so there's a huge brown stain on the page. And I'll save that sh*t until the day I die.
I love Citi Field but I wish they didn't move the wall in. I liked the fact that our outfield wall looked like a drunk kindergartener drew the blueprint for it
